Capítulo 135: One act of kindness

"Vincent had an accident."

Marcus and Fil held each other's gaze when those four words rolled out of her tongue. Four words and Marcus could already foresee where this was going. Even so, he offered to drive her to the hospital where Vincent was admitted. 

The entire journey was spent in silence, with Marcus glancing at Fil every once in a while. Her expression was solemn, making it hard for him to read what was on her mind. However, the way she clasped her hands on her lap so tightly was enough for him to know. 

She was worried. 

'Damn it,' he mentally hissed, slowing down as they entered the hospital's driveway. When he stopped, he turned his head to her. 

Fil glanced at the window before she looked back at him. "Thank you for the ride," was all she said while unbuckling her seat.
