Capítulo 44: Chapter 44 : As expected of Kyros!!

"The Curse of the Moon?"

"Yes, it's because of the moon's curse that we've become like this."

"We used to be an ordinary human village, but a few years ago, the moonlight suddenly turned purple."

"Purple? I've never seen a moon like that."

"Well, people from the outside might say that, but here on this island, the moon does turn purple, and whenever it appears, we undergo a transformation."

"The moon's out!" Happy exclaimed, pointing to the sky.

Everyone gazed upward as the wind gradually dispersed the clouds, revealing a purple moon hanging in the sky.

Lucy exclaimed in surprise, "It's really purple!"

"It looks ominous..."

"This is the curse of the moon's magic."

Suddenly, expressions of pain crossed the faces of all the villagers.

"Wow!"

"Wow!"

"Oooo!!"...

Many villagers also underwent physical transformations.

In the blink of an eye, all the villagers had turned into demons, appearing terrifying, leaving Lucy and Happy dumbfounded.

The self-proclaimed bold Kyros was also taken aback by the transformation of the villagers. He had nearly unleashed his overwhelming power but managed to restrain himself just in time; otherwise, he would have unwittingly destroyed these afflicted souls.

The village chief apologized, "I'm sorry to have frightened you all. Whenever the purple moon appears, we become hideous like this. If this isn't a curse, then what else could it be?"

"Woo woo woo woo!"

"It's alright, it's alright," they reassured.

"By morning, everyone will return to their original forms, but some whose hearts have been consumed won't revert."

"People whose hearts have been consumed turn into demons. We have no choice but to eliminate them, even if it means killing our own kin..." The village elder tearfully presented a photo.

Seeing the photo, Natsu and the others were once again shocked. The person depicted was the uncle who had ferried them to Galuna Island.

"That person, huh?!" Lucy couldn't believe it. The very person who had brought them to Galuna Island was now implicated. Could he truly be a ghost?

Kyros furrowed his brow. This scene seemed eerily familiar, as if he had witnessed it before. Being in the world of Fairy Tail now, it must be part of the original Fairy Tail story.

"To dispel the curse, we had to get help of the powerful mages."

"Please save this island; we're all in danger of being devoured by demons at this rate."

"We've become like this because of the magic emanating from this purple moon. There's only one way to break the curse, and that is... to destroy the moon!"

"Eh–?!!"

By the time Kyros arrived on the island, evening had already descended, clearly not the ideal time to break the curse.

Thus, the village chief arranged for a few people to rest in a spacious house.

"The more you gaze at the moon, the more unsettling it becomes," Happy remarked, leaning against the window and peering at the sky.

Lucy hastily interjected, "Happy, close the window quickly! Haven't you remembered what the village chief warned? If we linger too long in the moonlight, we'll succumb to becoming demons ourselves."

She stood firm and resolute, not wanting to transform into such a fearsome creature. She'd prefer death over such a fate.

Regret gnawed at her now, realizing the peril of coveting the Zodiac key. Had she known it harbored such a perilous curse, she wouldn't have ventured here for anything.

"Regardless, it's quite the predicament," Natsu remarked, seated in a chair, his body and face adorned with bandages. While not gravely wounded, he hadn't escaped unscathed either.

Kyros's assaults weren't easy to fend off.

"Yeah, destroying the moon... that's a tough one," Gray mused, his arms folded with concern.

"I wonder how many punches it'd take to shatter it," Natsu mused, his fists clenched eagerly, as if itching to attempt it.

Gray grumbled, "Do you seriously want to destroy the moon?!"

"How in the world would we destroy the moon?" Lucy shrugged helplessly. "No mage possesses such power."

Natsu adopted a serious expression. "But their directive is to obliterate the moon. If we fail, wouldn't it besmirch Fairy Tail's reputation?"

"If it's impossible, it's impossible. Firstly, we need to figure out how we'd even reach the moon!"

"Happy!"

Happy promptly raised his hand and chirped, "Count me out!"

When Natsu and a few others gathered to discuss how to destroy the moon.

[Ding! Automatic sign-in successful!]

[Sign-in location: Devil's Island]

[Received: 50 free attribute points!]

A surprised expression dawned on Kyros's face.

With 50 free attribute points, it had been a long while since he had obtained such a high amount. It seemed like he could extend his stay on this island for a few more days.

"Destroying the moon? That sounds like the victim's unilateral solution. I believe there must be alternative methods to break this curse," Lucy remarked, feeling hesitant about relying solely on Natsu and Gray, both known for their straightforward and impulsive nature. If they were to struggle, perhaps consulting Kyros would be wise.

"Kyros, have you ever undertaken a mission to lift a curse like this before?" Lucy inquired.

Kyros nodded. "Indeed, I have."

"You can dispel the curse's magic?" Lucy's eyes sparkled with hope.

Kyros shook his head. "I don't possess the ability to dispel curses. However, I can eliminate the individual who cast the curse."

o((⊙﹏⊙))o

The group looked bewildered. Kyros was undeniably Kyros, and his methods were very much in line with his character.
