Jace's thumb stroked her cheek suggestively. "You will find out soon enough if you pause with the questions. Now, will you come with me?"
Grace hesitated for a moment longer, then nodded. "Okay. But this better be worth it."
Jace's grin returned, and he leaned down to kiss her forehead. "I promise it will."
He took her hand and led her out of the office, and they made their way to the parking lot.
Grace couldn't help but glance around nervously, half expecting someone to jump out and question what they were doing. But no one did. Instead, they reached Jace's car without incident, and he opened the passenger door for her with a flourish.
"After you, my lady," he said, his voice teasing.
Grace couldn't help but laugh as she got into the car. "You're impossible, you know that?"
Jace's smile increased as he slid into the driver's seat. "But you like that about me."
Grace shook her head, still smiling. "Maybe I do."
