Jace sighed in frustration. "Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked coldly.
Grace's head shot up. 'Why does he seem angry all of a sudden? Weren't they getting along just fine?'
"I don't know what you're talking about, sir," Grace said after racking her brain, then leaned her head against the window, watching as the car sped past other cars.
Jace on the other hand had his gaze trained on Grace the whole time and didn't know what to make of the woman who was clearly pretending not to know what he was talking about.
How many times has he told her to not address him as sir? And what was the tremor he heard in her voice.
He bent down, gently lifted Grace's chin and asked,
"Are you sure you don't know what I'm talking about?"
She's been acting strangely since he asked her to ride with him in the car. She was acting wary as if she was afraid of something.
