Capítulo 16: A CHANNCE TO LEARN THE TRUTH
The voices inside were loud. A snippet of confession drifted through the door. Zaylee pressed closer.
" I didn't ask for any of this~you should have allowed me to pay for my crime " He barked out the words without regret. It's something he had been longing to say.
" You ungrateful bastard." His face, grim. There was a steely edge to his words. " Is that how best you can repay me?"
" All you did is for your selfish gain not for me. You feared the company will go down the drain if you don't step in that's why you did that~ why not take my interest into heart as well."
Before his father could say anymore, he stormed out of the office. The door opened to Zaylee right behind it. He stood framed in the door way. Their eyes remained fixed on each other and she felt his glare burning right into her soul.
" Umm, I ~" She begun but he just shot pass her without interest. Her gaze tailed his back and he left without turning back. Zaylee felt his pain.
Mr Stanford felt exposed as their eyes met. " Miss Zaylee~" He called, trying to sound nonchalant. " I'm sorry for his character, I guess I didn't train him well enough." He feigned a smile and she nodded.
" I'm sorry as well, I didn't mean to eavesdrop on you." She said on an impulse. " I've got to go now...need to attend to a few stuff at my office. "
With that, she excused herself and left off to her station. She couldn't seem to get the looks in his eyes out of her mind. And this got her thinking.

HOSPITAL
" What did she say?" Mrs Kalisa asked the moment he dropped the line. Her forehead creased with concern~She had bearly slept through the night.
" She wants to come on her own" He answered. Lisa wasn't happy about her daughter's choice but Levi was able to convince her.

"Thank you..." Phoneix said as she paid off his service and hurried into the buzzing resturant. She went straight to the two ladies standing over the encounter and greeted.
"Welcome to D'LILIES RESTAURANT , ma'am, how may I be of help?" The first lady said with a welcoming smile. Phone's eyes lurked around for a brief moment before asking.
"Um, sorry~" She started on noticing the lady's gaze which was now fixed on her. "I'm actually looking for a young lady in her mid twenties."
With a questioning gaze, the two attenders glanced at each other~ not knowing who exactly she was talking about. They had over 10 young ladies in their mid twenties so who exactly was she looking for and why. The question read on their faces and Phoneix realized.
" A dark-skinned with a broad forehead and high cheekbones." She explained further and the second lady caught onto the identity.
" Oh...That must be Trudy Blues"
" Great, Can I have a word with her for a few minutes?...It won't take long".
" Sorry, today is her off day~" She said, returning back to whatever she was doing. Phoneix needed a way to get to her or maybe get a footage of their previous visit or something but had no idea how to go about it.
" Can I get her contact or address?" She asked but the looks in the ladies' eyes gave out a loud no. She knew it wasn't right to just ask for that but she was desperate at this point.
" I'm not a bad person~ I just need a word with her." She added on an impulse. The ladies glanced at each other for a brief moment before one opted an option.
" I can call her for you if you're okay." Phone was so glad to hear that. She readily accepted the offer without hesitation. With that, the former reached for her phone. After a few taps, she made a dial.
Phoneix waited as it rang. Soon a voice was heard over the cell. " Don't tell me you're asking for change of shift." She said and the two laughed.
" Not that..." The lady giggled. " You actually have a visitor over here. "
"A visitor?" Trudy asked, not so sure who it could be. She wasn't expecting anyone either. She sounded confused.
"Yeah, I'm sure you don't know her but she wants a word with you. We can keep her here so you come over...that's if you're in town or not busy."
Trudy was a kind who visits her mother's hometown on her off days since her days were mostly packed with work, studies and all that. But from he look of things, she had no such plan for the day. " Sure. I'll be there in a jiffy."
She finally said and Phoneix's face fell in delight and gratitude. " Thank you so much" She said over the phone and Trudy heard it. " No worries" She dismissed and the line went dead afterwards.
With the direction of the two ladies, she had a spot by the far corner of the resturant with a great view, displaying the lage city down there. " Here you go" the familiar voice called her notice as she dropped a glass of juice on the table.
" Thank you." She said in appreciation. It was the second lady at the counter. They were so kind to offer her a drink even after assisting with Trudy's contact. She didn't know how else to thank them, maybe life will later offer her a chance to do that~ She thought.
Phoneix watched with smiles as she left off to attend to other guest. Soon, she noticed a lady walked in from the entrance. She had a navy blue jeans over a black T-shirt and a cap. It was her, the lady she was waiting for.
" Lola...where is she?" Trudy asked the moment she got to the counter. And the lady pointed right over to her. Phoneix instinctively waved with a smile. " Thanks, girl. I owe you one"
" I've surely jotted it down." Lola said and Phoneix over heard the two laugh as Trudy headed over to her end. For some reasons, she felt jealous of their friendship. It would be nice if she had someone she could call a friend like that.
" Sorry for keeping you~ I heard you wanted to see me." Trudy said as she settled in her seat. Phone nodded with a smile. She introduced herself and immediately apologized for calling her out like that as she went directly to her point.
" I bet you've seen this couple before." She pointed, showing her a picture which had Del and Berla in it. Trudy took a careful look and glanced back up at Phoneix.
" Isn't this Mr and Mrs Fern?" She quickly asked and Phone nodded. Her face creased with curiosity. " Did something happen to them?~ they're a regular here."
