"Riff raff?" He said eyeing her. "Did you call me a riff raff?"

She held her hand up at him.

"I am not done." She snapped at him. "When I am done, then speak and regardless of the fact that you are an imperial soldier I am the soon to be emperor's concubine and you will regard me with the respect that is deemed to me."

"Are you not supposed to be getting ready for the festival?" He asked her. "You look half done."

"How I look is none of your business or whether I am attending the festival or not." She said. "What is important is what I tell you at this very moment."

He eyed her still in awe at this woman who was so unruly.

For his amusement he nodded and let her go on ahead.

"You are free to carry on." He said. "I am listening to you."
