Dimitri scoffed

"I don't give a fuck." He ventured closer, squatting down to be at the same height as her. His hand reached forward, touching Adeline's neck.

Adeline, who appeared perplexed by his bizarre behavior, watched as his finger trailed from her neck all the way to her shoulder to stop on the purple hickey Caesar had left on her skin the previous night.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

Dimitri met her gaze, and his expression dimmed. "Who gave you this hickey? Tell me, right now!"

"What? Why are you asking?" She furrowed her brows, before suddenly gasping in a dramatic shock. "Oh! Does it bother you? Are you jealous?"

Dimitri knew she was taunting him, she'd always been an expert at getting on his nerves. But of course, he wasn't going to lose his cool, not so early in the morning. "I'm not playing with you, Adeline. Who the hell gave you that fucking hickey? Tell me right-"
