CHAPTER TWENTY
My paws were safely on the ground, and the jewels were glowing. I tapped one with a paw, and instantly, my paws drifted right through each other, and cold numbness ran down my spine. Ghost. tapping the gem again, I was back to the living. Oooooh. This would come in handy for spying, sneak attacks, running away, and all of the above! Buy one get one free?
And then suddenly, I spun around. There was a shape in the distance. That of a cat. "Hey! Wait! Shadow! Wake up!" I said, suddenly springing to shake Shadow's shoulder. The cat woke up with a start, and bit my paw. Wtf?! I whacked the cat's head with another paw and jumped back. Two bright yellow eyes glared at me, not a dull golden like what I was used to.
Not Shadow, but Onyx.
