Lifting his glasses, Ellis smiled. "Now, I planned to give these to you later, but I suppose now is just as good of a time."
He reached into the deep pocket of his pants and retrieved something wrapped in parchment, the gift tied neatly with a single red ribbon.
"I visited the Rone Kingdom on business recently, and Prince Aspen toured me around a newly built city. It's quite lucrative; all of the most skilled workers live there. We even visited a seamstress together. Aspen wouldn't stop rambling about her, which was annoying, but you know how terribly we need their support in this difficult time. So, I played nice. I was able to get these for you, at least, and it made all the suffering worth it."
What do you guys think? Do you think Ellis might truly be selfish with his desire for intimacy, or do you believe that reasoning might only be in Ember's head?
