Capítulo 15: CH: 15 Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment and Gringotts

He summoned the 'Knight Bus' once again to pick him up from the Leaky Cauldron, and the owner, old Tom, warmly welcomed him back.

The room number remained the same, Room 11.

Anton carefully counted the galleons in his pocket, murmuring to himself, "Money is like water, always flowing."

Clearly, this was not a normal way of life. The cost of traveling on the Knight Bus was exorbitant. Although the Leaky Cauldron Bar appeared rundown, in terms of expense, it was equivalent to staying at a Muggle five-star hotel.

This was the money exchanged from the moonlight turtle's brain!

An incredibly precious magical material, extremely rare. Fiennes would rather eat plain noodles and steamed buns every day than sell this ingredient for money.

Anton felt a sense of guilt when using it, as if Harry Potter had exchanged the Gryffindor sword for galleons and then splurged on a luxury car and hotel.

No!

It's different!

The Gryffindor Sword belongs to Hogwarts.

But this potion ingredient belongs to Anton himself.

"This is my magical material," Anton exclaimed with a heavy heart, pounding his chest. "It's not easy to obtain!"

Although his potions haven't reached the level of using such high-end ingredients, it's still nice to have them to admire from time to time.

Of course, he had no choice at the moment.

Just being alive was already a stroke of luck.

Now that he has finally escaped the clutches of the old man Fiennes and helped Lupin find a place to heal, Anton can start planning for his future life.

Without hesitation, Anton made a quick decision.

Once Lupin is cured, they will discuss whether to stay in the wizarding society or venture into the Muggle world. Having an adult by his side will make him feel more at ease.

But for now, he needs to find a place to live and delve into the mysteries of magic.

He now knows two spells, the soul-shifting spell and the misplaced soul spell. Although these spells are not suitable for him, Anton still vividly remembers the first time he used the soul-shifting spell and ended up bedridden for two days.

The second time he used it on Lupin, the magic potion from the 'Oculus' must have invisibly replenished a lot of energy.

As the night grew darker, the dim oil lamps in the room paled in comparison to the street lamps outside.

Lost in thought, Anton rubbed his suitcase.

He wasn't completely empty-handed; he had inherited a substantial fortune from his teacher.

But the problem now was that the inheritance was too large and inconvenient for him to carry. Dragging a suitcase larger than himself at the age of ten was like inviting trouble.

Tomorrow, I'll go to Diagon Alley to see if I can find a small traceless stretch spell. It would definitely be worth the money.

It would be even better if I could find a ring-shaped storage space like the ones in fantasy novels. It would make carrying things so much easier.

Lifting the suitcase onto the bed, Anton found a rope to tie the handle of the suitcase to his arm, and then he blew out the oil lamp.

...

"Apologies, lad, but we don't sell that round 'ere," said the owner of the Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment shop, adjusting his glasses and spreading his hands.

Anton expressed his confusion.

"But your shop is the biggest wizard equipment shop in Diagon Alley!"

The boss smiled, "It's an 'onour to 'ave yer praise, but we ain't got that item, and you wouldn't be able to find it nowhere else neither."

Anton furrowed his brow in suspicioun. He vaguely remembered Hermione creating a small purse with a traceless stretching spell when she was a student. Is it difficult to make something like that?

Did he remember it incorrectly? Or is this just a fanfiction you made up?

What does the original plot look like?

Upon seeing Anton standing there, the store owner couldn't help but point to Anton's suitcase and then motioned to the top box on the wall shelf. "You've got a bleedin' classic model from five years ago, and the new suitcases are proper fancy, although there ain't much difference in terms of looks and size."

With a shrug, he continued, "Apart from luggage and tents, you won't find no products that use the Traceless Stretching Charm. The Ministry of Magic 'as strict regulations, innit? Usin' the Traceless Stretching Charm for personal purposes is bleedin' forbidden, and even wizards ain't allowed to expand their own 'omes. Imagine if a small 'ouse just popped up outta nowhere, it'd cause right a ruckus. It's a serious violation of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, mate."

The store owner squinted his eyes and wrinkled his nose, as if recalling something amusing. "There ain't no Knockturn Alley, mate. While there might be some dodgy wizards 'angin' about, they wouldn't dare to cross the Ministry of Magic's boundaries, no way."

This posed a problem. Anton reluctantly walked around the store and ended up buying a sling pack with his money.

"Made from dragon skins, these 'ere Hebridean black dragons are proper feisty, they are. And their leather, it's bleedin' tough as nails, mate. Highly resistant to magic spells, it is." the shop owner explained, tugging at the pocket to demonstrate its strength.

The sling pack is an adult-style bag used by Anton as a messenger bag. It hangs on the chest and can be well hidden under a wizard's robe.

It can be used to hold more valuable items.

But with such a small capacity is simply a drop in the bucket. Not to mention the information on the two bookshelves in the suitcase, even various potion materials can't be stuffed into it.

"It's quite troublesome now."

Anton stood on the street of Diagon Alley, watching people coming and going, always feeling like some malicious individuals were staring at him.

Finally, he looked up and saw an extremely luxurious building at the intersection of this alley.

- Gringotts.

Gringotts, as the bank of the wizarding world, doesn't have the function of saving money.

Depositing money here is akin to opening a safe in a Muggle bank. The goblins don't care whether you store money or items in it, as long as you pay sufficient storage fees.

In the books and movie clips, it always feels unsafe here, with greedy goblins constantly pilfering.

But Anton still sensed the underlying safety of this place, between the lines of the book.

Dumbledore trusted this place, where he kept his precious Philosopher's Stone.

Voldemort also trusted this place, where he stored his second Horcrux.

"I hope it's not too expensive." Anton walked with the suitcase, which was quite a hassle for him!

The entrance to Gringotts faces Diagon Alley, and a white stone staircase leads to two gleaming bronze doors. Next to the entrance stood a goblin dressed in a scarlet-gold uniform, bowing to him and gesturing for him to enter.

The goblin here is a little different from the Pedro Anton met before. The skin is darker, and the body is thinner. Although the clothes are exquisite, they lack the extravagant feeling of Pedro's attire.

After entering, there is a silver door with a series of words engraved on it: "Enter, stranger, but take heed. Of what awaits the sin of greed..."

Perhaps it was a warning, but Anton ignored it and continued walking in, with a loud voice echoing around him.

The inner hall is very spacious, predominantly in dark tones, and under the illumination of the chandelier, there is an inexplicable sense of solemnity.

A goblin approached, and asked. "May I inquire about your purpose?"

"To deposit items," Anton replied, neatly tapping the suitcase in his hand.

The best approach when dealing with these cunning individuals is to show no expression and speak as little as possible, so as to keep one's true intentions hidden. This is the stance even the most powerful old wizard adopts when navigating treacherous territories.

The goblin's eyes lit up. "It seems there's quite a lot inside. You may need to set up a vault."

Anton nodded, "It doesn't need to be too large. I simply desire a small, private vault of my own."

Purposely dropping ambiguous remarks is also a tactic employed by experienced wizards.

The goblin scrutinized him, particularly fixating on Anton's hair for a moment, before nodding in understanding. "Young wizards always desire their own vaults. After all, no one likes their parents to know about their secret endeavors. What do you have in there?"

"It's a contingency plan for when I occasionally venture out alone."

? ? ?

"What's going on in your mind?" Anton silently grumbled, maintaining a neutral expression on his face, and nodded, "Lead the way, please."
