The butler rushed off immediately.

Kang Chen took a second, then, to the maids, said, "You, go in...dress her up."

Before the maids went in, he added lightly, "Rub some alcohol on her."

"Yes, Master," the two maids hurriedly bowed and went in."

Soon after, a doctor arrived; Kang Chen let him in by himself and didn't return to Ming Mei's bedroom again.

However, Kang Chen didn't go back to his room either, he sat in the living room.

He lit a cigarette, not taking any drags, left it inserted into the tea table. The faint smell of tobacco wafted through the air, but was unable to overcome the scent left by Ming Mei on him.

The butler watched him, wanting to remind Kang Chen that he should now go and change his clothes; for his normally prim and proper uniform was now left in a disheveled state by Ming Mei.

Five minutes later, the doctor came down and told him, "Young Madam has been sedated and she is sleeping now."
