Capítulo 81: {5}Interlude-Theresa's Birthday
Multitudes of people happily walked through the giant venue, talking to each other and eating the food they had obtained from the long table of masterfully crafted dishes.
it was beautifully decorated and every detail of it was perfect. it needed to be perfect.
After all, today was a special day, it was Theresa's birthday.
With a smug smile, Otto felt happy with his work.
he had gone through all the trouble of setting up a whole other new building in the orphanage which has basically become a huge mansion over the years. Thanks to the money he has raised from his manga and many other sources(Reason BTW, saves money when you can make shit out of thin air), they have been able to take in more and more kids.
Obviously, with that, there needs to be more space for them. Thus the big house where Otto had been raised was turned into a big estate where parentless children are raised with love and care by Azza, The Ten Commandments, and The Four Seraphs.
"Daddy!" Yelled a childish voice.
Otto's eyes sharpened like a predator, not that type, and scanned the room for the familiar voice.
As his eyes lay on the entrance of the building, he saw the sight of Theresa in the gorgeous birthday dress he had handmade, no powers.
Of course, he could have just made it with [Reason] or bought an expensive high-end dress, but no, he handmade it for her.
Otto might be a mastermind, a genius, extremely successful. But when it comes to his daughter, he's an absolute fool for her.
With blinding speed, he instantly moved to her position and picked her up.
"Hey munchkin, like your party?" Otto said as he hugged Theresa tightly in his arms
"umu, I love it!" Theresa smiled brightly, causing Otto to clench his chest in pain from how cute she was.
'too cute!' Otto thought as he pinched Theresa's soft cheek.
From one of the tables, the Flame Chaser team looked at Otto and Theresa from a distance, a wry smile plastered across all their faces.
It was two days ago when they were pleasantly surprised with an invitation to Theresa's birthday.
They have only met her once during that time when they were training (besides Elysia of course, she goes and takes her away from Otto to cuddle every time she gets the oportunity), but she was their friend/bosses daughter so they accepted the sudden invitation.
But...they didn't think it would be so, so...extravagant.
If Elysia could describe it, she would say that it looks like a scene from a royal party in one of those historical manhwas.
All that was left was the handsome blonde king with green eyes that looked like jewels and was super rich and... powerful.
just like Otto...
Elysia got close to Mei's ear, wanting to share her realization "Hey Mei-"
Before Elysia could finish, Mei cut her off "Otto is basically the handsome blonde king with jewel-like green eyes in a historical manhwa? yeah, I was thinking the same thing" As if reading her mind, Mei confirmed that she also had the same thought.
Elysia chuckled lightly "Fufufu~ so what's the name of his manhwa? 'The handsome king can't stop spoiling his daughter'"
Mei laughed as she heard the absurdly specific title "hahaha! no, no. It is 'The king is a simp for the princess'" Elysia and Mei laughed together as they continued to share stupidly long titles.
Even the stoic Kevin began to smile a bit, he had to admit that making fun of Otto put a smile on his face.
Pardofelis who was on the side, smiled widely as she began to write down their ideas. She could already imagine the huge amounts of money she would make from their stupidly long-titled manhwas-
{Ding Ding, your salary has been halved for the next three months} A notification suddenly rang out on her watch.
Pardofelis's face turned ghastly as she saw that her check was going to be cut in half.
"What Why?!!!"
{...Do you really think I don't know?}
Pardofelis stiffly turned her head as she looked at Otto staring straight at her, Theresa still in his arms.
{Put everything you stole back into its place, now!}
Pardofelis texted back {Will my salary be turned back to normal?...}
{No, but I won't cut your salary for the next year instead of 3 months}
Pardofelis immediately left the building, her sacred gear activated to return everything to where it belonged.
With a satisfied smile, Otto continued Theresa's birthday party. Minutes became seconds, seconds became hours, and eventually, the party was almost at its end.
but there was still one last thing to do.
Everyone gathered around the one specific corner of the room where all the gifts for her were stacked upon each other.
Otto sat in the middle on a chair, Theresa on his lap who was looking at all the gifts in excitement.
"Alright sweetheart, which one do you want to open first?" Otto asked.
"Hmm~ dunno" Replied Theresa, jumping off Otto's lap she began to scan through the gifts. Eventually, her eyes caught the sight of a gift wrapped in red and white gift wrapping with a sword pattern all over it.
She picked it up and read the writing on top of it "From Kiba"
"Oh, so Kiba's gift is first?" Although slightly disappointed that she didn't choose his gift first, Otto was a bit curious as to what Kiba had gotten her.
Theresa began to rip open the gift, and as she finally fully opened it, a beautiful diamond tiara was revealed.
Theresa's eyes twinkled as she saw it, she didn't really know its true value which would amount to millions of dollars, but it looked really pretty, and she liked it.
Kiba who was among the crowd, smiled as he was happy that she liked his gift. He didn't really know what to give to Theresa for her birthday so he got the most expensive gift he could find that a young girl would like, the perks of being a servant of Satan's little sister.
"Good gift, Kid" suddenly spoke a voice to his side.
turning around, he was now face to face with an older man who had black hair and golden highlights.
"huh? Aren't you the princess's servant?" Azazel said in realization as he got a good look at Kibas's face.
Over the years Azazel has gotten close to Otto and the others, he's almost like an uncle to them. But even after coming here, he had never thought that the Crimson Princess's servant would be here, especially since this party is mostly for people who are close to Otto, are affiliated with Shicksal, or are aware of it and are on good terms.
"Aren't you the Fallen Angel Governor?" Kiba also recognized him, he was equally surprised to see him here.
"Oh, You two haven't met have you?" Otto said as he approached them, Theresa still engrossed in the diamond Tiara
"Azazel, meet Kiba Yuuto, my spy in the Gremory Household. Kiba, meet Azazel, my technically uncle" Otto casually introduced.
"Uncle?"(Kiba)
"Spy?"(Azazel)
Kiba was merely surprised to learn that Otto's uncle was Azazel.
But Azazel was shocked to learn that Kiba was Otto's spy in the Gremory, even HE didn't have one in there. It was just that hard to get a spy into the Gremory household.
Azazel especially didn't understand how he got Kiba to be a spy for him. From the info he has gathered over the years, Kiba should have been found on death's door by Rias and later revived as a reincarnated devil. He should be completely loyal to her since she was the one that saved him along with the fact that he has a Evil piece inside of him...unless.
he quickly turned around to see Otto's disturbing "Yes! It was all part of my plan!" smile, which confirmed his guess.
...Otto already had Kiba's allegiance before Rias found him, meaning that he predicted that Rias would be in that time and place, and...it all went according to plan
Chills ran down his spine as Azazel once again turned to look at Otto "Scary boy..." He muttered under his breath. Deciding to take this secret to the grave as he didn't want to face Otto's wrath.
Azazel already knew how petty he could be, and how even scarier Otto could get when he was serious.
Before Otto could creep out Azazel even more for entertainment, Theresa suddenly began to open another present, it was Otto's.
Azazel could tell the excitement in Otto's eyes as he watched Theresa pick up a certain beautifully packaged present. Azazel could only guess that this was Otto's gift. Wondering what it was, Azazel watched, guessing that it probably was some super expensive item.
As Theresa opened the box, she was left confused as to what she had been given. it seemed to be some sort of red gauntlet with a giant green crystal on the back of its hand.
Azazel who was drinking some scotch, suddenly began to choke on it as he saw what Otto's "Present" for his daughter was. Uknowing that Otto almost had all the original Loginus Class sacred gears, the only ones that he really knew that he had was [Zenith Tempest] and [Aeon Balor].
And Azza...
*Plop*
Azza passed out on the floor immediately, she couldn't take the absurdity of gifting you daughter a literal GOD KILLING WEAPON!. And the fact that she knew that he almost had all longinus class sacred gears didn't make things better.
"Dad, what is this?" Theresa asked Otto as she picked up the gauntlet, ignoring the passed out Azza on the floor.
"Its a cool toy for you sweetie, now you can be as strong as daddy" Otto said with a smug smile.
Theresa's eyes shined like stars as she heard his words.
"Really? thanks dad!" Theresa ran over to Otto and hugged him, otto returning the hug with a silly smile on his face.
The scene would be even sweeter if everyone wasn't awkwardly looking at the [Boosted Gear] that was being flung around like a toy in Theresa's hand.
Himeko and Welt sighed as they looked at the scene, they were the only ones that knew Ottos plan of Gifting the [Boosted Gear] to Theresa. Of course they tried to talk him out of it but he refused.
All they could do now was to hope that Theresa wouldn't destroy the mansion with a single punch in the future.
