The cave was quiet, except for the occasional crackle of the fire and the steady breathing of Damon. Kyra's mind wandered as she tried to figure out why her powers weren't working. She had been able to heal others, but when it came to herself, it seemed impossible.

Kyra quickly crawled out from under his wings and sat near the fire. Although the dragon wasn't much affected by the cold, he had kindly put the fire on for her to feel warm.
