Capítulo 5: The Demon and the Daimyo

Hello, here is the chapter of the day. I was looking for sword techniques for the main character, apart from the Demon Slayer one, and ended up stumbling upon something called Tatsu. I thought it was a part of the Naruto story that I hadn't read or a manga set in another universe. I almost kicked myself for forcing myself to watch Boruto, expecting something good from Kishimoto, and never having heard of that story...

... until I read more and realized it was all fan-made because it mentioned the One Piece world. I was starting to look for information about the story on top of that... and as it caught my attention, I took a quick look, and I can only say, "What lore!" The lore is so extensive, they even have a 5th ninja world war and everything, it's hilarious.

[18:07, started editing a large part of the fanfic because I got confused about Hisen's death, which happens due to an attack from an enemy village and not by Suien, so it's going to be a bit of an AU.]

[18:23, already edited everything and went to run errands.]

[21:30, went to eat with 2922 words written.]

[01:04, finished, just need to translate it, with at least more than 3600 words to read.]

[At the same time as the MC, he marked the plans in his mind]

[Third-person omniscient POV]

In a corner of Takigakure, the residence of Hisen, the village chief and respected ninja, stood with imposing presence. Kanao, with determined steps, approached the place and knocked on the door with authority.

After a few moments, the door creaked open, revealing Hisen's serious face. Although surprised by the visit, Hisen showed no emotion on his countenance.

"Kanao, what brings you here?" asked Hisen, maintaining his imperturbable expression.

"Yoriichi-sama requests your presence at the daimyo's residence. There are important matters to discuss, and he needs the collaboration of both you and your father," explained Kanao with seriousness.

Hisen frowned at the news. "And what matters are so important as to interrupt my time? I have no intention of going unless it's truly crucial. At the moment, I have plenty of paperwork and plan to train my son."

Kanao, though hesitating as she 'knew' the Daimyo's personality, was also aware that she was his samurai, someone who would give her life for him, and understood the need to convince Hisen for their Lord's plans to succeed, even if they were tribal. She responded with determination, "I don't have all the details, but Yoriichi-sama seemed serious when he asked for both you and your father, Senji."

Seeing Hisen's denial, but also adding, "Yoriichi-Sama also entered the main room of the residence and sat in the Daimyo's chair..."

This time, it did take Hisen by surprise, as he knew his old friend hadn't entered that room since his appointment as Daimyo. This made him ponder for a moment before sighing and nodding resignedly. "Fine, I'll go. But let Yoriichi-sama know that I'm not willing to waste my time on trivialities."

Kanao bowed her head in a sign of respect. "Understood, Hisen-sama. I appreciate your cooperation."

Hisen closed the door behind him, mentally preparing for what awaited him at the daimyo's residence, as both headed towards Senji's house.

The journey to Senji's residence was marked by tense silence. Kanao led Hisen, who was immersed in his thoughts, as they headed to the place where the elderly ninja resided.

Senji's residence, despite not boasting the grandeur of the daimyo's, exuded a sense of respect and antiquity.

Upon arrival, Kanao respectfully knocked on the door, awaiting the response of Takigakure's former leader. The door opened, revealing Senji, an old but imposing man.

His white hair and well-groomed beard testified to the years he had lived as the village leader. Although his eyes reflected wisdom, they also showed a firm and determined gaze.

"What brings you here?" asked Senji, showing no surprise or emotion in his voice.

Kanao bowed her head in respect before speaking, "Yoriichi-sama requests the presence of Hisen and yours at the daimyo's residence. There are important matters that require the collaboration of both."

Senji, unfazed, crossed his arms over his chest and observed Hisen carefully. "Important matters, you say? My time is valuable, and I have no intention of wasting it on trivialities. Besides, I have nothing to discuss with that irresponsible fool."

Senji, looking at Kanao about to respond, cut her off immediately and said, "Look, girl, I know you're the closest thing the Daimyo has to a right hand, and in the most literal sense since that godson of mine can barely move. But I don't care because that boy calls me. It's no longer my concern."

Kanao knew she had to handle the situation carefully to persuade the elderly leader of Takigakure.

Thinking that explaining what Leonel had done might convince the old heart of Senji, Kanao respectfully explained, "Yoriichi-sama also entered the main room of the residence and sat in the Daimyo's chair. He seemed very serious when specifically requesting your presence, Senji-sama."

Senji frowned, though surprised that he entered the room, it wasn't enough to make him budge, still unconvinced, he said, "I have nothing to talk about with that brat. My days as the leader of this village are over. Let him manage on his own."

Seeing that Senji was still adamant, Kanao could only accept it, and although she knew this rejection could have consequences, she bowed with respect and withdrew along with Hisen.

Senji's decision left Hisen to face the imminent meeting at the daimyo's residence alone, without the support of his father.

 ------------

[Daimyo's residence]

[Third-person point of view]

Shortly after Leonel planned the best course of action and named the plans in his mind, which surely needed more revisions, knocks were heard from the door. After giving permission to Asami to open the door, Kanao entered, accompanied by Hisen.

Hisen, a man with short, straight brown hair turning gray at the tips, wore a black Takigakure headband around his forehead. His hair hung over the left and right sides, and he also had brown sideburns. With small black eyes and a small brown goatee, he was one of the strongest ninjas in the village, at jonin level, surpassed only by his father Senji.

Although Hisen was the childhood friend of the daimyo, he was the village chief, 35 years old, and a father of an 8-year-old named Shibuki, honoring the late ex-daimyo. He was also a ninja who had an invocation in the novel called Ryūrimaru, a white-crimson catfish six times larger than a human.

Leonel wanted the summoning, not because it was a catfish, but for its ability to use the Transformation Technique, which would allow it to turn into a giant golden dragon by simply saying "God Dragon Transformed."

Leonel wanted Ryūrimaru as much as snake summonings. Hisen's son, in the future, would use this summoning to confront Suein, where now, as the village leader, he fights against the traitor who appeared shortly after his father's death at the hands of foreign villages.

[Leonel's Thoughts]

Wait?! I remembered that in the canon, Hisen died when his son was young, between 6 and 11 years old. But as he is still alive, that means he can die at any moment due to an attack from foreign villages.

'Shit,' 'shit,' 'shit.'

I also miscalculated Suien's betrayal. I thought I had more time, thought I had a total of 12 years until his betrayal, but I forgot that, although Hisen's son seems young in the canon, he is actually 20 years old in the first part. [1]

Suien becomes Shibuki's master shortly after his father's death and then betrays the village. If I want to leave the village for the adoption plan, I need to make sure the village is safe, and I can't leave knowing that Suien will betray the village. While it's not certain if he already has the idea of betraying the country, it's better to be sure.

'Shit,' I thought I had more time, but the attack can happen at any moment. Also, now that I remember, there is no Daimyo in Takigakure in the canon. That could mean anything.

The three most likely scenarios that come to mind are:

A: In the canon, the daimyo dies when I transmigrate.

B: In the canon, he is murdered by Suein when he leaves the village.

C: The least likely, and that is he dies in the attack from foreign villages, but most ninjas are afraid to kill a daimyo, but being a small country, they may not care.

D: The one I least want it to be, as I said before, it's possible that this is an alternate universe where Naruto died young, and the daimyo of Takigakure never existed in the canon, but in that universe, he did.

Well, enough of thinking so much, I have to figure out how to handle everything, and the best way is by using it as a sacrifice against foreign ninjas, although I'll have to find a good reason to send him to the front.

Though it sounds ruthless, I'm not allowed to fail, and even if he's not a traitor, he's not trustworthy. As far as I remember, he was even ruthless with his allies. It's better if the threat is eliminated.

[Third-person point of view]

After reflecting on these concerns, Leonel turned his attention to Hisen and asked him to take a seat. Simultaneously, his eyes landed on Kanao as he formulated a question:

"Kanao, where is Senji?"

Although Kanao hesitated before answering, she finally revealed the answer in a low tone.

"Yoriichi-sama, Elder Senji said he won't come to see you until you give him a reason to. Also, he asked not to be called anymore, as he has no interest in seeing that... chubby godson of mine."

Sadness briefly reflected on Leonel's face, but he quickly masked it with an impassive expression. However, Kanao and Hisen noticed the shadow of sorrow that cast over his countenance.

Although his sorrow didn't go unnoticed by Kanao and Hisen.

He sighed, "Understood. You can leave, Kanao, and continue with your tasks. Asami, also withdraw along with the ninjas guarding me, create a perimeter around the area. I don't want anyone to hear our conversation." [2]

'Well, at least now I have an excuse if they ask why I started training,' Leonel thought to himself.

After Kanao left, the atmosphere in the room became more tense. Leonel, although trying to hide his emotions, couldn't help but feel the pressure of revelations about Hisen's possible fate.

Hisen, sitting with a serious expression, awaited Leonel's words. He wondered what could have led his old friend to summon him in such a manner after years without seeing each other.

"It seems things are getting complicated, Hisen. I need your help," Leonel finally said, breaking the tense silence.

Hisen, though surprised, already had the assumption that Yoriichi called him to seek his assistance. Although he hoped it wasn't to ask for permission to have tea with the Water of the Hero or for some trivial act of promotion. Although half resigned to collaborate, as surely he's asking for something stupid, like requesting a chunin from the village to accompany him, he knew that as someone above him and the daimyo of the country, he had no choice but to cooperate.

"You can count on me, Yoriichi-sama. I am your friend, after all."

After a brief moment of silence, Leonel revealed something that caught Hisen by surprise.

"Hisen... I want to adopt the Demon."

The expression on Hisen's face changed from surprise to disbelief, and then to anger. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. Although Yoriichi was the Daimyo of the country, the idea of adopting the Jinchuriki, the strongest weapon of his village, was above even the Water of the Hero. It was an option that no other village would allow.

Hisen, angry but cautious, asked, "Yoriichi-sama, are you sure of what you're asking? Adopting the Demon is a serious and dangerous decision. Not only for the Jinchuriki itself but also for you and everyone in this residence, not to mention the political and security implications of having the Jinchuriki as your daughter."

Leonel, with a determined look, responded, "I am aware of the implications, Hisen. But I believe this is the best option to secure the future of Takigakure and protect it from external threats. I will need your support and advice on this matter."

Hisen, still angry at the words, reconsidered and now curious about what he means by "protecting her," asked, "Forgive me, Yoriichi-sama, but what do you mean by 'protecting her'?"

While grabbing the nearby quill and starting to write on a scroll, Leonel explained to Hisen why he wants to adopt the Jinchuriki

"Hisen, as you know, Jinchuriki are the ultimate weapon of the village and serve as the balance that the First Hokage, the legendary Hashirama Senju, bestowed upon all the Great Ninja Villages to maintain equilibrium..."

Hisen nods, anticipating the pause Leonel made.

"You also know that Takigakure is the only village not belonging to the Great Ninja Nations that has had a Tailed Beast in its possession, in this case, the Seven-Tails Rhinoceros Beetle. This is because, at that time, during the founding of the first ninja villages after the emergence of Konoha and the Land of Fire..."

Again, Hisen nods, wondering why the Daimyo is explaining basic information.

"The village at that time had excellent Jōnin, showcasing the village's power. It was considered a great village, earning them the recognition of the First Hokage to acquire the Seven-Tails."

"As we know, most of the great villages mistreat their Jinchuriki to control them later, making the Kage the one who treats them the best to keep them under their control... and that's surely what you planned to happen to the Seven-Tails, to have it under your control and for the village."

Hisen, now surprised that the Daimyo guessed his plans, stiffly nods. Leonel continues:

"My 'plan' is simple; I want to do what they did in Kumo, where the brother of the Fourth Raikage is the Jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails, Killer B. The Jinchuriki was adopted by the Third Raikage when he proved to be compatible with the beast... my plan is to adopt the Jinchuriki and raise her as my daughter, ensuring her loyalty. Many Jinchuriki leave their village after being mistreated, and although they can afford it since they can recover the beast, for us, that would be impossible... I also want to make people believe that she is my true daughter, avoiding problems."

Hisen, still skeptical but intrigued, everyone knew the famous AB duo or the even more famous Third Raikage known as the 'Strongest Shield,' who fought against the Eight-Tails until capturing it, where it ended up being sold to Killer B. Hisen knew it would be impossible for his entire village to recover their beast without making sacrifices, and they still had possibilities of annihilation. He asks, "And how do you plan to achieve that, Yoriichi-sama?"

Leonel smiles. "Simple, I will say she is a daughter I had from one of my many adventures."

Hisen, now surprised but with concern, comments, "Sir, but that would damage your image and also be a blow to the village if the Daimyo has a daughter with the 'lower' class."

Leonel, still smiling, says, "More damaged than it already is?"

Hisen, though still worried about possible consequences, just remained silent, realizing that Yoriichi had a well-thought-out plan. Although not entirely convinced, he was willing to hear more.

Leonel continued explaining his strategy while writing on a scroll:

"Hisen, I need you to collaborate on this plan. If you adopt the Jinchuriki, we could ensure she remains loyal to the village and, consequently, to me. It would also protect Takigakure by keeping that power under our control and preventing it from falling into the wrong hands. But I need your help to do it in a way that minimizes the negative impact on the village and my position as the Daimyo."

Hisen, still with doubts, approached and asked, "What is expected of me in this plan, Yoriichi-sama?"

Leonel handed him the scroll he had been writing on and instructed him to read it.

"In this scroll, I've detailed the actions you'll need to take. In summary, you'll need to inform the three elders under your father, and your father afterward. Don't disclose this to anyone else beyond them. You must ensure they understand the strategic importance of this decision and how it will benefit Takigakure."

"Also, I'll need your help in making the 'demon' suffer an 'accident' and die in a fire. This way, I'll maintain a good public image since they won't know about the 'Demon' adoption; they'll only think she's my daughter. I want you to control the information within our village and inform Elder Fuyo of the plan so that she doesn't oppose."

As Leonel watched Hisen read what he had written, he raised his imaginary glasses with a hand, having other thoughts in his mind:

"The three elders are ninjas under Senji's authority and are trustworthy, while Elder Fuyo is Senji's wife and Hesen's mother. She manages the orphanage where Fu stays and is also responsible for caring for her. It's better that only they know the information to avoid dangerous ideas from potential spies and from Suien."

"The accident is to make the villagers think the demon died, and potential spies will believe it's an unfortunate echo, with the Jinchuriki likely hiding in the Great Tree area, or we hide her ourselves. Even though it might attract attention, I don't want to have a daughter, but I have a certain confidence that they won't pay much attention, as it would be strange for a man who sleeps with different women almost daily not to have children... even though I always fall asleep, but the spies don't need to know that."

"And controlling the information is to strengthen the village's defense. This way, we know when foreign powers attack, giving us more time to prepare. To not appear suspicious, it's better to handle it this way, and it serves in case there's a spy or traitor in the village selling information to attackers; we can intercept the information. After all, information is power."

After finishing his thoughts, he looked at Hisen, who had carefully read the scroll, absorbed by the details of the plan. He began to believe that Hisen 'understands' Leonel's vision better and the need to handle each step of this delicate situation with care.

"I understand, Yoriichi-sama," said Hisen finally. "Although I have my reservations, I am willing to collaborate on this plan. But I hope you take into account the possible consequences, and that this truly benefits Takigakure."

Leonel nodded with gratitude. "Hisen, I appreciate your willingness and understanding. This decision is risky, but I believe it's the best way to protect our village. We will work together to ensure everything goes as planned."

Hisen stood up with determination. "I will do everything in my power, Yoriichi-sama, for Takigakure."

As Hisen rose, he asked him to, "Before you leave, I need you to inform Asami and Kanao that I'm calling them."

Shortly after the request, Hisen left the room to fulfill what Yoriichi had asked. On the way, he informed Asami and Kanao that Yoriichi was calling them, and he soon left the residence.

"Do we call you Yuriichi-sama?"

Looking at both who asked at the same time, with a serious tone, he dropped the bomb, saying:

"I need the ninja and samurai training method, and I also need one of you to unlock my chakra."

The surprised looks exchanged between Asami and Kanao absorbed Hisen's request. Both, aware of the seriousness and urgency in their leader's voice, nodded in unison.

"Understood, Yoriichi-sama," responded Kanao with a respectful tone, while Asami nodded silently.

Knowing that both were capable, Leonel continued, giving them a brief explanation: "I am trying to lose weight, and chakra will be essential for that. That's why I want to unlock my chakra to be able to go further... I also have many projects in mind, and most of them involve chakra. For that, I'll need to lose weight and, in turn, improve my skills to carry them out."

Asami, the loyal samurai, responded with determination: "You can count on me, Yorichi-sama. I will do whatever is necessary to help in this project and improve your skills."

Kanao, the clever ninja, nodded. "I'll be delighted to help, Yoriichi-sama. We will work together to ensure you are prepared for any challenge that arises."

With the commitment of Asami and Kanao secured, Yoriichi felt a confidence that he had lost knowing his renewed situation's success.

"I can't believe it, I'm going to unlock my chakra and will be able to throw cool jutsus with just random hand movements."

As he muttered in his mind like a child, he thanked both and headed to a place where he could unlock his chakra, to his room where everything began and where it would begin again but much more renewed... [3]

[Next day]

[POV Leonel]

Leonel cradled the baby in his arms with tenderness, watching her with love. With utmost care, as if she were made of glass, he brought her close to his face and, while looking at her, commented with excitement:

"You don't have a name, my princess. Well, I'll give you one. Fu, that will be your name. Fu Suzuki. From this day forward, you have become my daughter and my responsibility." [4]

 ----------

[1] These are my genuine complaints. I was mistaken in thinking that Shubiki seemed young in the canon and believed he was 20 years old in the second part, i.e., within 16 years. However, he is actually 20 years old in part 1 (Young Naruto). So, I miscalculated, thinking the protagonist was 12 years old to prepare, and I also confused myself, thinking that Suien was the one who killed Hisen, which is not the case. Hisen dies from an attack by the unknown ninja villages.

I made a lot of mistakes in this chapter.

[2] I completely forgot that Asami was in the room. Fortunately, I reread the entire previous chapter, and I abruptly dismissed her because I already had a total of 3571 words and didn't want to modify the dialogue too much.

[3] This will be part of tomorrow's chapter. I don't remember a specific method for unlocking chakra in Naruto, so I'll drop a hint and say he'll unlock it the old-fashioned way.

[4] I'm not sure if I should change his name, but I want to leave it as in the canon. I decided that the protagonist's last name should be Suzuki because it's short and represents that he is the 'bell of the great tree,' not because he's fat, obviously. But because in Tokigakure, there is a massive tree, and being the bell of the tree means being at the top of the tree, i.e., Tokigakure. It seemed like a good name, and I'm sure Yoriichi's ancestors chose it because it sounds arrogant. Suzuki.

Suzuki is a fairly popular Japanese surname. Besides being a car brand, it's also a person's last name. The first kanji (suzu) means "small bell" or "chime." And the second kanji (ki) means tree. Therefore, Suzuki would be "the bell of the tree."
