I however nodded at the elves, my heart swelling with appreciation. "Thank you," I whispered, truly meaning it.

The werewolf girl who had been bouncing on the balls of her feet, nudged Eloraen and Caelya playfully. "See, I told you she was kind! You didn't even need to help me beg."

The elves chuckled softly. "Indeed," Caelya agreed. "It seems your intuition served you well. Isleen possesses a kind heart, one that forgives easily."

I turned crimson at that. Would Kylo be as forgiving when he learned that his Dad kissed me? And that I kissed him back? Or that I and his Dad kissed.

Oh, Lord; speak to me.

With a final goodbye wave, the elves left, leaving me alone with the girl.

I arched a brow. "So what now?" I was referring to why she hadn't followed the elves.

"Erm — can we be f -friends?"

F — friends?!
