Capítulo 860: Chapter 585: The Adventures of Cat City Gotham (Part 1)_1

The first floor of the Thought Palace, or rather the ground floor, has no rooms, only doors, windows, and the floor, as well as stairs leading to the upper floor. Precisely because of this, Shiller can observe the situation outside the Thought Palace through the windows on the first floor.

Since it is a circular high tower, the view from the windows is very wide. At the moment, the high tower of the Thought Palace is precisely in the centre of the roundabout in the heart of Gotham City, so the entire situation of Gotham City Center is in full view.

After being swallowed by the kitten transformed by the dream of a thousand cats, Shiller had guessed what might happen next, but what he didn't expect was that the dream of a thousand cats directly dragged his entire Thought Palace into the cat's dream.

Having glanced at the situation outside, Shiller returned to the center of the first floor. He looked at Dream God Morpheus who explained without being asked: "As I said before, the dream of a thousand cats is a collective dream of cats. Now, it must have been frightened, hence, it dragged you all into its dream."

"As I said before, cats once ruled the world, cats were masters, and humans were servants. However, a thousand people had a dream together and replaced the dream with reality, hence, humans became the master of the Earth."

"Yet the dreams of cats have not disappeared, they still exist in the Kingdom of Dreams, and the world ruled by cats also exists in the dreams of cats. As you can see, in the dreams of cats, the inhabitants of the world are naturally all cats."

"The first question..." Shiller asked: "Why is there Gotham in the dream of cats?"

"That ..." Morpheus shook his head and said: "Although it might seem like I am deliberately not wanting to tell you when I say I don't know, the fact is, I don't know."

"As far as I know, Gotham is a very strange place, where everyone's dreams bring a cold dark wind to the Kingdom of Dreams, there has never been any place as special as Gotham."

"Perhaps, apart from the people living there, the cats there are also different; they remember this place that is cursed with darkness..."

Shiller furrowed his brow, although Morpheus's explanation was vague, Shiller, who had read the comics, had more conjectures. There's no doubt that Gotham is a cursed place, the darkness here is not a simple matter of economics and politics, it also involves mysticism.

If viewed from the perspective of breaking the fourth wall, in any state of the cosmos, Gotham will exist, because it is the garbage dump of the entire cosmos; darkness and chaos will ultimately flow here.

If so, it isn't strange that such a place exists in the dream of cats. No matter who rules the world, the darkness of Gotham remains unchanged. Perhaps, the place where Shiller landed isn't geographically identical to Gotham, but as long as it's a garbage dump of evil, it's Gotham.

Just then, Morpheus turned to Shiller and said: "Although you've made a mess of my home, I just let Little Black out to get some air, after all, it can get tiresome to stay in the Kingdom of Dreams all day."

"I didn't expect such a reaction, it even moved your house. But it's fine, I'll take you back now..."

As he spoke, Morpheus's hands lit up with light, but suddenly, Shiller stepped forward to stop him, saying: "No, I don't want to go back now..."

Morpheus looked at Shiller and said: "Are you sure? But don't blame me for not warning you, your consciousness has been brought into the cat's dream, leaving your body uncontrolled, and it might fall into a deep sleep..."

"That's even better." Shiller gave an unexpected answer, revealing a smile that sent chills down one's spine.

Morpheus looked at Shiller's smile, feeling a chill on his back, he asked: "...What do you want to do?"

But Shiller didn't answer. He just stood in the center of the ground floor, looking up, and shouted loudly: "Superego? Superego? Are you there?"

"I'm enhancing the mental defenses. Don't you see the chaos outside?" A voice came from upstairs.

The people on the ground floor all turned to look out the window. As expected, this suddenly appearing giant building in the center of the town had drawn the attention of all the residents of Cat City Gotham.

The shrill siren sounded, numerous police cars rushed to the scene, cats in safety gear and helmets entered the scene. They set up explosion-proof shields, arranged roadblocks, and methodically surrounded the gate of the high tower.

Shiller discovered that this wasn't simply turning people's roles into cats. These cats were not the anthropomorphized cats often seen in animations, standing on two legs. Instead, they were normal cats walking on all fours with tails proudly up in the air.

The equipment utilized by these cats was all designed to adapt to them. For example, instead of sitting behind the wheel of a car and stepping on the gas, they stood in the driver's seat on all fours. The controls for direction and speed of the vehicle were foot pedals.

The equipment worn by the cat officers was also adapted to their four-legged form. They didn't hold guns in their hands, but carried them on their backs. Instead of real guns that needed reloading, they utilized a type of laser weapon.

The communication devices they carried extended to their ears, the earpiece hidden in the fur, while the other end connected to their mouths. The control stick for firing extended from the side of their necks to their chests. All they had to do was extend a paw to trigger the weapon.

Shiller personally observed several cats, equipped with road clearing gear, manipulating the laser weapons on their backs. With several "zaps," they were able to completely obliterate the curb blocking the tower gate.

Besides cars, the transportation they used also included mini helicopters encircling the tower and hovercrafts floating in the air. It was clear that the cats in this dream world had developed technology far superior to that of the real-world Gotham.

Although they were only slightly larger than average house cats—about the size of a typical Maine Coon—the equipment they carried and positioned around the tower was formidable. The lasers were highly destructive. There were also many devices that hadn't been deployed, and Shiller had no idea what they could do, but he was certain they posed a significant threat to the human race.

This meant that charging into the group of cats leveraging their bigger size wasn't a great idea. Shiller stroked his chin saying, "I think we can't beat them, so we should try a different approach."

"Wait!" Morpheus interrupted Shiller's plan. "Don't tell me you plan on entering this city. It's not a good idea. In a world ruled by cats, humans are either slaves or pets. I should really get you guys out of here..."

Shiller completely ignored him, continuing, "... but if we can't beat them, we could join them. Superego, are you done yet? If so…"

Shiller dragged his tone on before turning his gaze to Moonlight Shiller, Lex, Khonsu, and Ye Meng Jia De, who peeked from behind them. "…it's time for the troublemaker to rectify his mistakes," he continued.

The two men, the snake, and the bird under his gaze were taken aback. Lex was the first to speak, "I only saw a cat and a snake when I came out of the room. Then the cat disappeared, leaving only the snake..."

Finishing his sentence, he turned to look at Ye Meng Jia De, who retorted, "What does this have to do with me? I'm a victim too. That cat bit me and ran away. If it didn't, I'd have shown it who's boss. Anyway, the one who scared the cat was him..."

Ye Meng Jia De turns his head to look at the umbrella-wielding Moonlight Shiller. Without saying a word, Moonlight Shiller turned to Khonsu, suggesting that if Khonsu hadn't skipped out on work, he wouldn't have bolted out of the room.

Khonsu turned to look at the dream god, implying that if Dream God Morpheus hadn't chatted with him, he wouldn't have missed work.

Morpheus turned to look at DC Shiller, intending that if Shiller hadn't brought him here, he wouldn't have chatted with Khonsu.

Shiller scoffed, arms folded, "You all want to blame me?"

Suddenly, a puff of smoke appeared next to DC Shiller. After the smoke dissipated, Shiller had transformed into a black cat.

An invisible hand grabbed the scruff of his neck, the door creaked open, and after shaking him about, lobbed Shiller cat out of the door.

Everyone in the room watched Shiller being thrown out. They heard the being called "Superego" speak:

"It's time for the troublemaker to correct his mistake."
