Maya's hand felt cold; she didn't know why, but it felt like her heart was breaking into pieces when Victor passed her without even looking in her direction. He had definitely seen her because their eyes met. Did he now decide to treat her like a stranger? Maya turned to look at Victor as he spoke to Luca.

He had really changed; his hair was grown out but well-trimmed to fit his face. And the new corporate look really suited him. For him to be a popular manager meant that he picked his life up very well and was now doing exceptionally well. Somewhere inside, Maya was genuinely happy for him. Victor didn't have to leave all his dreams just because of her and Jason. It was okay not telling him about it. She assured herself with a slight nod.

Luca was too stunned to speak; his jaw dropped. It was really Victor standing right in front of him.
