Sarah's POV:

I didn't care about his inheritance; I still didn't consider myself a part of the family yet.

At that moment, I received a message from Jacob.

"My car is parked outside."

I held Amber's hand and walked out with all of them staring at me in disbelief.

We got to Jacob's car, and he drove away without questioning me.

I stared out of the car window angrily. Who did Elma think she was?

Was she always going to insult me because I didn't have a kid of my own?

Jacob parked the car at his place. I just realized I didn't give him a location. "I am to drop at a hotel."

"Will you spend the night at a hotel?" He asked, and I stared at Amber, who had already fallen asleep.

"That was the plan."

"You can sleep in the guest room, and tomorrow you plan, okay?"

We were already here, so I couldn't refuse.

I carried Amber in my arms as he helped me with the bags.
