Capítulo 21: chapter 21

Sierra pov.

I woke up to an empty bed, startled to find him gone. In a hurry, I got up, thinking it was the perfect moment to escape from this place.

As I left the room, the silence was deafening, making my heart race. I rushed towards the door, but as I opened it, there he was, standing with a smile.

"Hey, you're awake," he said as he walked in, closing the door behind him and fixing his gaze on me. "Where are you going?" he inquired, and fear gripped me, leaving me at a loss for words. If he discovered my attempt to escape, he might end my life for good.

"I was just looking for you," I quickly responded, trying to sound convincing.

"Looking for me?" he asked, surprised, while I moved closer to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Yes, love, I was. I was genuinely sad that I couldn't find you."

I could see confusion and surprise on his face as my words sank in. He scrutinized me, trying to determine if I was lying.
