The extra time first period was over and the score was still 2 : 2 in the favor of both teams and no one had managed to break the deadlock even after fifteen minutes of extra time.

This was not to say that both teams didn't try, but rather, they had both played like they weren't the slightest bit exhausted and went against each other with all that they had.

The Nacional team had managed to create a few chances and had almost scored on two occasions, but things had not gone in their way and Marchesin had managed to keep his team afloat.

The Oporto team had also had quite a few chances with the most remarkable one where Jason had managed to draw out his markers and then gotten past them with a well executed skill move before sending a pass to Evanilson who had hit the ball into the back of the net but was ruled offside because he was a few centimeters ahead of the last man when the ball left Jason's foot.
