The sole reason both of them felt their toes curl and get goosebumps was because the demon beast in front of them had used telepathic messages.

Usually, demon beasts below Stage 5 have low intelligence, like the Earthen Yellow Boar they saw, but many demon beasts could send telepathic messages after reaching Stage 4.

The issue here was that the coherence and the words of the demon beast sounded too firm for it to be merely a Stage 4 demon beast.

Both of them were aware that they'd die miserably if their suspicions were correct, and as if they had been forlorn by luck, their fear came true the next second as the beast finally stopped pressuring them.

"Hmm? What's this? Why is it a familiar feeling that I am getting?" The demon beast in front of them was mumbling with its mouth… or rather, its beak.
