"By the way, where did you send Emily? I haven't seen her for like hours now." Ali said, sitting in the hall at his house with Liv, while just playing some stupid game on his phone.
"The guards you asked for had arrived." Liv said, surprising Ali yet again about how she knew, but as always she ignored him and kept saying "I just sent Emily to pick them up from the airport. She should be back by now."
"You could've just sent literally anyone else you know. Em's not a driver." Ali said while shaking his head.
"I know. But she is the only one beside old man Alfred, whom the authorities identify as someone working for the Arya family. So unless you want me to order your butler, Emily's the only choice." Liv replied honestly.
{Obviously half truth as the other half was that she just wanted some alone time with him without any other light bulb, especially if the said light bulb also had to have feelings for her man.}
But there was no way she was gonna tell him that.
Ali, who heard her explanation didn't think much and nodded his head. "Meher and Aarvi signed the deal." Ali suddenly said, as he remembered something.
"I know." Liv replied, not taking it seriously. To her, the company business was just an excuse she picked up to keep herself busy instead of always waiting and watching Ali running behind Aarvi.
The profit competition between the so-called four beauties was just because she didn't like losing.
But "I'm not interested in those games anymore." Liv said thinking, now that she's with Ali, should she just drop her company and permanently move home or something.
As if reading her thoughts Ali slapped his hand over her head and said "I don't want to see you lose, okay."
Though a little surprised, Liv didn't take it to heart and nodded her head "Fine. I'll think of something."
"I wanted to meet with Isha, thinking to let you two cooperate. She can be your brand ambassador and promote your brands in her tours or social media or something." Ali said and then sighed "But she already left the city and wouldn't be back for a month or two, so you'll have to think of something else."
"Well, I don't need her to help me. I got a few new products lined up in the development stage." Liv informed him with pride and added "Any one of them can overturn the market. The other three combined might not be able to beat me."
"Is it something like a beauty cream or deaging thing? Or maybe a perfume that lasts for days or something?" Ali asked, remembering a stupid novel he read just yesterday.
Where a villainess and heroine both research similar products, promising good results - the public has hopes for the villainess, but it's the heroine who steals the show with her miracle drug made by the protagonist, while the villainess suffers massive loss and ruins her reputation.
'I know that Aarvi is making a beauty cream under patent, don't know about Liv though?' Ali thought, and he didn't have to wait long as Liv replied back in surprise.
"How did you know?" She said, thinking where did Ali get the news that she's been keeping under wraps for a while.
Ali, who heard the confirmation didn't reply, but just shook his head, thinking he should really read a lot more villain novels if he wants to survive. Who knows what kind of other similar plot will be triggered over time.
"I'll come to your company to take a look later." Ali said, thinking he'll just use some appraisal or system to help his villainess out.
"You _ what do you know about research? You bunked nearly 60% of your classes in basically everything." Liv joked with a smile.
"Haha, very funny. I was still smarter than you, who just missed the exams afraid she'd fail badly in it." Ali replied.
"I didn't miss the exams, I was sick that day." Liv defended.
"Yeah, sick enough that I found you playing games when I came back." Ali joked.
"It was chess, all I had to do was just sit in one place and move my hand a little." Liv explained.
"Yeah, that's exactly what exams needed too, but you refused then didn't you?" Ali said with a teasing smile, catching her in her own words.
Liv, who lacked any word in response, just turned around and slapped him on the shoulder. Using violence where reason doesn't work.
As if expecting the hit, Ali just moved his body to the side and grabbed her hand first.
"Idiot." She said, trying to use her other hand but he grabbed it too.
Liv tried to free herself but only ended up falling back on the sofa, as he just pulled her hands above her head and pinned them there with his one hand.
"L_ let go." She said, squirming on the sofa trying to slip from his grip, as her face blushed and heartbeat started racing seeing him towering over her face.
"Why? You're the one who started it." Ali said, as he fixed her messy hair covering her forehead.
"Y_ you _ w.. what're you doing?" Liv spoke, stuttering in her words, as her breathing became rushed and body felt hot for some reason. Her struggle slowly died down as she just stopped moving and looked at him with hazy eyes.
"You're pretty." He muttered, meeting her eyes as he was done fixing her disheveled hair.
"I know." Liv said, trying to sound proud but ended up making a tone barely above a whisper.
"No, you don't." Ali said, tracing his fingers over her cheeks, which started blushing even more and turning even redder with his touch. "Or you wouldn't tease me and joke with me all this morning."
"I_ I didn't do anything." Liv said, shaking her head in defiance.
"Lies." Ali said, with an intoxicated look as his fingers danced over her perfectly smooth skin.
"I was just trying out new dresses." she said.
"Lies again."
"Fine, _ I was teasing you. _ But that's what you get for making me wait for so long." Liv said, turning her face to the side.
"You're so_ angry at me, aren't you?" Ali said, pinching her chin to make her turn.
"Humph" Liv just humphed through her nose, and kept her face away, afraid to meet his eyes, as she felt she'd just lose control and do something this idiot might not be ready for yet.
But the next second she heard him whisper in her ears and froze in place.
"Maybe this'll make you feel better." Ali said, placing a gentle kiss her on the cheek.
Feeling the hot breath in her ears, and the warm touch on her cheeks for a second Liv thought her body was on fire and smoke was coming out her head. 'It's real, right?' She thought with a little wide eyes. But before she could wake up from her reverie Ali whispered something again and then let go.
"Anger doesn't suit you. So keep on smiling, you big dummo." He said with a chuckle, before giving her another peck fleeting kiss and fleeing the scene. As he just heard the sound of cars stopping outside.
Leaving Liv just lying on the sofa staring at the ceiling with a sweet smile on her face and a lost expression on her eyes. "Idiot" She muttered and closed her eyes, as if trying to savor the lingering feeling of warmth for one more second.
