The impact was jarring, the force reverberating through their bodies. Ysac twisted mid-air, using his own body to cushion Aria's fall, taking the brunt of the collision himself.

Ysac's groan echoed through the courtyard, raw and guttural, like that of a wounded beast.

Blood pooled beneath him, staining the ground a deep crimson. He had hit the ground with his back and head first, taking the full force of the impact.

In his arms, Princess Aria was cradled protectively, her body unscathed, like a pearl shielded in its shell. She lay unconscious, her eyes closed and her breathing shallow.

"Ysac!" Ragnar's voice cut through the night, filled with a mix of urgency and concern as he sprinted toward his fallen soldier and the princess.

"Aria!" Sophia cried out, her voice trembling with fear.
