Natalie and Javier stood on the sidewalk. He kept reciting religious verses under his breath while her nerves were pushed to the maximum.
"Please God, let her be safe, please," he whispered.
"..."
Natalie's eyes darted left and right desperately searching for a taxi now. Just as her anxiety reached its peak, Alonso's Audi screeched to a stop beside them.
"Alonso, thank God!" she muttered to herself and nudged Javier who seemed a little out of it. It wasn't until the front passenger window went down that she saw Terissa behind the wheel with Alonso sitting beside her.
"Get in the back," he said with a serious expression.
Javier opened the door and let Natalie in before joining her and shutting the door behind him.
"What's happening? Did you find her?" Natalie blurted out as she slid into the back seat, her voice trembling with worry.
Alonso turned around and met her gaze, his eyes shifting between her and a silent Javier.
