Alonso — who had been going over his emails from their new home while contemplating a few furniture changes — had an urgent night meeting with Terissa. It was well past dinner when Natalie returned to the mansion and noticed that the president's Mercedes was absent. Most of the lights were off, except for the glow coming from Gabriella's room.
"Gabriella… I should probably go to her. She's always there whenever I need someone to talk to," Natalie muttered to herself.
It felt a bit weird not seeing Juan at the door, but as the president's right-hand man, he probably tagged along wherever he went. Natalie climbed the stairs and headed straight for Gabriella's room giving the door a soft knock.
"Gabriella? It's Natalie," she called out.
After a moment, Gabriella opened the door with an unreadable expression behind her glasses.
"Mind if I come in?"
