Capítulo 49: Deity of War Tomb (4)

Rasoul was surprised by the sudden turn of events. He didn't expect that kiss, but when it happened, he felt compelled to go along with it. They continue the kiss for five whole minutes. When they finally broke the kiss Lara immediately turned away feeling shy; she wanted to leave, but Rasoul pulled her back, hugging her from behind while they sat.

"Don't worry about me again, okay? I should be the one concerned about your safety," Rasoul said in a gentle tone. He was unaware of these new and wonderful emotions. In all his years, he had never felt anything like this. He knew today wouldn't be the last time, but for some reason, he just wanted to hold onto her for a while. Little did Rasoul know, something beyond their understanding was happening, and they hadn't realized it yet.

"I'll always be worried about you, Rasoul. Just try not to get into dangerous situations too often," Lara replied, her face flushed.

"I promise I won't get into a lot of trouble again...Rasoul replied with Lara still in his arms

They both found themselves enjoying the unexpected situation. Rasoul hadn't anticipated the kiss, and Lara was equally surprised by how it intensified and went on for five whole minutes. They remained in that embrace for a full hour until Lara finally spoke.

"I think we should go back; Sabrat has waited long enough."

"Yeah, let's go back," Rasoul released Lara and put on his armor. Afterward, they exited the ring. Sabrat promptly inquired, "Are you alright now?"

"I'm fine," Rasoul replied.

He then proceeded to store the body and core of the beast in his space ring. Aware of potential dangers, he was eager to uncover what the beast had been guarding. They ventured into a cave-like structure, and immediately they entered the system message chimed in.

Ding...

[Congratulations to the host for discovering a secret safe of Nino, aka Deity of War]

The cave's interior was adorned with silver-type marble, giving it a whitish appearance. The most distinctive feature inside was a herb-like flower situated at the far end. Apart from the flower, the cave held nothing else.

The flower displayed delicate, silver-white petals that shimmered with a faint iridescence. Each petal resembled a crescent moon, and the flower itself only opened under the soft glow of a full moon, creating an ethereal and otherworldly beauty.

Rasoul quickly approached the flower, but just as he was about to pluck it, the system chimed in.

Ding...

[Congratulations, Host, for discovering a Moonshade Blossom]

[Moonshade Blossom: This rare flower blooms only under the light of the full moon. Its petals are used in potions to enhance magical abilities and induce lucid dreaming.]

[The host is advised to use the system to secure this flower since a slight mistake could cause irreversible damage.]

'And how much will that cost?' Rasoul asked, well aware of the system's intentions.

[It will cost 10,000 Fire Points.]

'Alright, take it.'

The flower disappeared from its spot. Rasoul turned around and began walking out, with Lara and Sabrat following from behind. Once outside, Rasoul turned to his companions and inquired, "Should we deal with the other 9 Guardians, or should we just leave this place? We still have those bastard heirs to take care of."

"I understand that you need these resources to create new subordinates, so let's deal with the guardians first. We still have three weeks to go. The heirs aren't going anywhere," Lara promptly replied. Despite understanding the danger of going after the Great Beast, she wasn't willing to miss the opportunity, considering the value of these resources to Rasoul.

"Even if we can't get the heirs this time, we can still catch them outside the tomb. Right now, we need those beasts to create new allies," Sabrat added. He was thrilled at the prospect of hunting, his nature as a hell assassin making him a literal embodiment of the Grim Reaper.

"Alright, but this time, we'll use stealth to assassinate those we can and engage in a fight with those we can't sneak up on," Rasoul said.

Rasoul and his friends then embarked on their hunt. Knowing it wouldn't be easy, they decided to ensure a safer and easier hunt by spending some fire points from the system storage to purchase special poisons. Rasoul bought two unique poisons, each costing 500,000 fire points.

[Venom of the Void Serpent]

[Extracted from the fangs of the mythical Void Serpent, this venom is an inky black substance that seems to absorb all light around it. When introduced into the bloodstream, it severs the connection between the victim's body and soul, inducing a rapid descent into a void-like state of nothingness. The victim's senses gradually fade away, and within minutes, they exist in a perpetual, silent darkness, completely cut off from the external world. No antidote is known, and those afflicted are condemned to an eternal and isolated existence.]

[Abyssal Whisper Poison:]

[The Abyssal Whisper Poison is a concoction brewed from the essence of the deepest abyss of the ocean. A single drop of this poison is enough to infiltrate the victim's mind, planting insidious thoughts that drive them to madness. As the poison takes effect, the victim experiences hallucinations of nightmarish sea creatures and hears haunting whispers that mimic their deepest fears and regrets. The psychological torment intensifies until the victim succumbs to madness and either self-destructs or becomes a vessel for dark, aquatic entities. No conventional antidote exists, and curing the victim requires a perilous journey into the abyss itself to confront the source of the poison.]

Rasoul was confident that the 'Venom of the Void Serpent' and 'Abyssal Whisper Poison' he had obtained would be more than adequate for dealing with the other beast Guardians. Little did Rasoul know, they wouldn't require these poisons anytime soon because the actual threat awaited them at the finish line.

For the next two weeks, Rasoul and his companions hunted down the nine beast guardians, acquiring corpses, cores, and unique herbs from the caves they guarded. During this time, an increasing number of prodigies gathered near a location that seemed to be a gateway to something significant.

Rasoul received reports from the slaves he had among the prodigies. Sensing that something major was about to happen, after defeating the last beast, he promptly urged his friends to prepare.

"Alright, guys, get ready. We'll be heading back to the gathering soon. It's not far from here."

Shortly after, they started their journey back to the gathering, unaware of the danger awaiting them.

*****

Back at the gathering, various heirs, sect disciples, and rogue cultivators were either deep in conversation or sitting in silent anticipation, eagerly awaiting the opening of the gate. Everyone knew that beyond it lay the highly sought-after legacy, and it was a race they were all determined to win. Despite their competitive spirits, none wanted to be the last in this race. Even allies were prepared to betray each other to secure the coveted legacy.

Inside the Rainy Kingdom heirs' tent, a meeting unfolded between them and their helpers.

"This is it. We have to act fast and precise. No room for mistakes. Since we've all made it this far, we should at least acquire this legacy to honor the friends we've lost," Celine declared as she scanned the room.

"We can't let those Sundance and Porter folks beat us to the punch," Nathan added.

"We don't have to worry about the Sundance folks. Rumor has it that they tangled with some mysterious individuals, and those three are planning to mess with them. If things go well, they'll be out of the race before it even starts," Obed, the heir of the Mical family, shared.

"Well, that's good for us then. We just have to give it our all, and I believe we can win this legacy," Celina added with confidence.

Similarly, inside the tent for the Sundance heirs and the seven fairies, another meeting was taking place.

An ethereal beauty with radiant blue eyes, porcelain skin, and cascading auburn curls framing delicate features spoke, "The gate will be opening soon. We don't know the nature of the legacy, but I'm certain it will be an open challenge. We must try our best to win it, no matter what." The speaker was Seraphina Everhart, now known as Seraphina Charleson, one of the seven fairies.

"We should also be cautious around those Porter and Rainy heirs. I keep getting weird vibes from them," Isadora Morrison added. She exuded a mysterious aura that captivated those around her, her beauty not inferior to Seraphina's.

"What about those white-haired individuals we were warned about?" Genevieve Xian inquired, her deep and radiant eyes seeming to peer into one's soul. Despite her calm demeanor, she appeared to be the most dangerous among them.

"They're not here yet, which means they're still unaware of the potential opening of this legacy. If they don't show up, that's good for us. But in case they do, we'll take care of them swiftly. We can't allow any slip-ups," Seraphina replied with a slight cold glint in her eyes.

"This legacy is crucial to the great families, so we must do our best to secure it, no matter what," Livia Oslo spoke. As the leader of the fairies, she held great strength but always chose to take a back seat in discussions.

"Those three individuals won't attack us once they learn about the potential of that legacy. Ruben come to me the moment those three individuals show up; I have an assignment for you."

What she said was true; if Rasoul discovered the true nature of this legacy, he would likely ignore the heirs and fight for it. She intended to use Rasoul's ignorance to gain an advantage. Unbeknownst to them, the secret they were hiding was Rasoul's first step toward dismantling the entire seven great families. Raosul's Rise to power will be based on his ability to obtain this legacy.

*****

A day later, Rasoul and his companions finally arrived at the gathering. Their presence though triggered a commotion, with many ladies expressing lustful gazes toward Rasoul and Sabrat's handsome appearance. However, the guys were not to be outdone, their eyes were all fixated on Lara. Some ladies even couldn't hide their envy for her angelic beauty.

Observing the lustful looks from the ladies, Lara quickly took Rasoul's hand, and they began to move side by side. It was a clear message to all those eyeing Rasoul: "This handsome one is taken."

'Feeling jealous, huh?' Rasoul playfully transmitted his thoughts telepathically to Lara. This, of course, brought a blush to her cheeks.

"Feels like something big is about to go down," Sabrat remarked as they continued moving towards the crowd.

"Whatever it is, I reckon we're right on time," Rasoul responded.
