Zoe seemed almost on the verge of tears.

Sam didn't quite know what to say.

All he could do was help her pick up the kitchen knife from the ground, then, almost embracing her, walked towards the elevator, comforting her as they went. 

"It's okay, I understand, sis. I know you're worried about safety, and about me... But don't worry, I'll take care of myself just as I would protect you. You don't need to worry about me; you must take good care of yourself, Zoe."

Zoe looked at Sam, touched.
