Konoha
Training Ground 3
Naruto, Sasuke and Hinata agreed to enter the Chunin exams that will be held in a week. Osamu told them earlier before they start their training.
It has been 4 months ago when he started training them each with a jutsu he learned.
Sasuke made progress by being able to use chidori but is unable to use it effectively due to not awakening his sharingan yet.
But Osamu had him trained to enhance his perception and awareness to be able to use chidori more effectively.
Naruto was already able to master the rasengan in a week and he still needed a shadow clone to help him control the rotation.
And finally, Hinata was also able to master water shuriken and it's Kage bunshin version.
All in all, Osamu sparred with them and had them all train in using those same jutsu so they be more familiar and be able to use them efficiently in future battles.
What better platform to have them show their progress than the Chunin exams?
While Osamu was busy training them, he was not complacent with himself and also trained during rest days.
His training was the use of Haki without entering Shuchu state or Sage mode. Regarding Sage mode, he adapted the approach of the toads by having Lady Katsuyu on his shoulders gather Nature energy for him the same way Jiraiya did.
This will enable him to enter Sage mode indefinitely and won't need to recharge like Naruto did when Pain attacked Konoha.
"Alright then, let's have one last spar!" Osamu announced.
"Yes, sensei.!" 3x
His students replied enthusiastically.
Although he was firm and strict with them when training, he was soft when it come to normal interactions. He's already treated them as someone important to him.
Osamu didn't judge the people of this world based on what was portrayed in the anime. He judged them based on how they interact with him.
The trio immediately rushed towards him.
By now, it's no longer part of their strategy to hide from their sensei. They have learned that ever since he's able to locate them easily.
When asked, Osamu told them he was a sensor which means that hiding from him is useless if they were within his range.
Ever since, their attack pattern towards their sensei became straightforward.
Naruto started with the Kage bunshin but he didn't simply multiplied himself but also his teammates.
"Good thinking, but." Osamu commented before engaging the clones.
He easily dispelled them with his taijutsu as he danced inside the clones.
But his dance was interrupted as he sensed Hinata chakra.
Water Shuriken came at him and multiplied midflight.
But Osamu didn't panic and entered schuchu state and used observation Haki to easily evade it all.
This was the first time Osamu used Haki against his students so they were surprised how easily he avoided all of it.
Then he heard birds chirping as Sasuke was already behind him, chidori already flickers to life.
As soon as it did he charged towards Osamu who also felt Naruto in Sasuke's opposite direction rasengan in hand.
As both of them came near him, he countered Sasuke chidori with a rasengan and Naruto Rasengan with a chidori.
Boom!! Boom!!
Two explosions sounded as the jutsus collided and cancelling each other yet the explosions pushed Naruto and Sasuke except Osamu who was at the center.
That was when he heard Hinata's voice.
"You are within my range, Hakke Rokujuuyonshou!"
Hinata appeared in front of Osamu her hands about to strike Osamu's tenketsu points.
Yet Osamu didn't have a change in expression as he held his right hand in front of him while his left behind.
As soon as Hinata executedthe 64 palms of the Hand of his clan jutsu, Osamu blocked and parried each and every strike by Hinata easily using observation Haki, knowing where the strike would come.
After that they engaged in a taijutsu match 3-on-1 where Osamu easily floored all 3 of them.
Once the spar ended, Osamu instructed them.
"I am satisfied with what you have learned. I want you to showcase all of this during the Chunin exams. I will be watching closely so don't disappoint me. Understood?"
"Yes,sensei."3x
"Good. Take the rest of the week to prepare yourselves. No training, especially you Sasuke."
"But-" the boy wanted to retort but.
"No training."
"Fine."
"Good. Make me proud." With that he vanished in puff of smoke.

Shikkotsu Forest
Before coming to the holy land Osamu already submitted his students' application and requested a month long leave which Hiruzen tried to deny of him and gave him a day.
Osamu bartered for 3 weeks to which Hiruzen said 2 days.
Osamu opted 2 weeks and 3 days but Hiruzen said 3 days and a half. This went on until Osamu got a week out of the old man where Osamu immediately agreed.
Tricked by Osamu, Hiruzen simply laughed and approved the request.
Osamu has long since finished studying 2nd's notes, he already have the idea, he just needed more time to mature his chakra pool so he can use it more without harming himself.
He knows that immaturely casting a jutsu that cannot be supported completely by his own chakra leads to accident which happened to him before.
Osamu already have the jutsu down and added a few more levels to it but have things to address which disables him to cast it, mainly due to his early/new Jonin chakra reserves.
Level 1 was the normal mark to mark teleportation of oneself. Unable to use it as he was still yet to create his own personal markings.
Level 2 was the same as Minato used on Tobi/Obito when the latter pursued him. Obviously can't use it due to the same reason as level 1.
Level 3 was the same as Minato used in the Kyuubi's bijuudama that was launched towards Konoha when Tobi/Obito unleashed it. Unable to use due to the same reason as 1 and 2.
Level 4 as shown previously, he already knew how to execute but doesn't have the chakra for it that's why he used Naruto/Kurama as battery for the first use. He used the 2nd's Markings and made an adjustment.
And finally level 5, Not yet fully developed which is why Osamu is trying to complete it within this week and the month long period that'll come before the last part of the Chunin exams.
Regarding how level 5 will function once completed, Osamu drew inspiration from the world of MCU. The teleportation using the sling ring and eldritch magic where Osamu will use markings and chakra as substitute respectively.
Osamu was aware of Orochimaru's involvement in the Chunin exams and Hiruzen's upcoming death.
If Osamu's family were still here, he might not care of Hiruzen.
However, during his depression state. No one was there for him but Kakashi, Hiruzen, Shintaro, Shoto, Hinata and even Hiashi.
These people are the ones driving him in this world now, meaning, they hold value to him.
And anyone who holds value to him, naturally, he must protect.
Which means, clashing with Orochimaru, is inevitable especially now that he's Sasuke's sensei.
Sasuke and Naruto were simply added to the list of important people to him. That is also why he was planning something for the both of them.
Talk to Kurama and Itachi. Tell them something about this world and what will happen and what are his plans to avoid such fates.
The flow of time has long since deviated although not as big, but enough for Osamu since he knew the future events of this world.
"Osamu-Sama?" He was out of his thoughts as Katsuyu talked.
"Yeah?"
"Are you sure about this jutsu that you're developing?"
"Of course, don't worry, I know exactly what I'm doing since I already understood how space-time works in this world. I simply lack the capacity to perform it. That is why I am opting for the natural energy around us instead of my own."
"It is precisely because of that, that I am concerned, few has ever tapped the natural energy to use them as chakra. And if they did, they use it by creating sage chakra not nature energy itself alone."
"Sigh, you sound like my mother. Here let me show why you don't need to worry."
Osamu extended his index finger towards a tree in the forest.
Then, nature energy converged on the point of his finger. Katsuyu was surprised by this phenomenon.
The energy formed a bright blue circle of energy he size of a marble/jackstone.
Once formed, Osamu blast it towards the tree.
Boom!!!!
The tree was no more, the only thing that's left was the area it stands which is now a hole resembling when a bomb explodes.
"I don't think that's going to keep my worries away, Osamu-sama. It in fact increased my worries!"
"Oh come on!" Osamu complained.
