Capítulo 4: Tragedy at the Sunflower field.

Among lush green pastures and fields of yellow sunflowers, dragonflies and bees buzzed lazily. Hovering above it all, the cloud trembled with anxiety.

The recent interaction weighed heavily on his mind. Never had he seen a human act so monstrously, and he had witnessed his fair share of strange things. His form shifted yet again—two chubby ears atop a fat, cloud-like body, a tail trailing back twice his own length, and paws, pristine white and fluffy. He now resembled an oversized cat, though his expression was far from feline grace. Two eyes and a mouth had formed, twisted into a sad, contorted frown.

Luckily, before the trauma could completely overwhelm his soft, mushy mind, he spotted a beautiful bed of flowers huddled together below. It looked too tempting to ignore. Hovering above it, he found himself easing his mind by stealing glimpses every few seconds. "Maybe the world isn't so bad after all," he thought. Still, the thought of retaliation loomed in his mind, scaring him.

A week had passed.

"Why did I even threaten her?" he thought resignedly, trembling at the memory of the feral child. At the time, defending his pride had felt necessary. After all, just because he was a cloud didn't mean he lacked dignity. Self-respect wasn't exclusive to humans.

Yet, as he stared at his pillow-like, harmless paws, doubt seeped in. How could something this pristine, this soft, even imagine hurting anyone—let alone that little monster? His threats had been hollow, but the damage was already done.

He wasn't helpless, of course. If he truly wanted to, he could do something about it. But after much deliberation, he decided to let it go. The trauma was too fresh, too raw, and too persistent to confront. "Let bygones be bygones," he thought, trying to convince himself.

His emerald eyes turned toward the flower bed below. How beautiful and cozy it looked. For a brief moment, he loosened up, his lips curling into a sly smile.

"Maybe I should just… stop hovering and lay down," he mused. "Yes, that's what clouds do. It looks perfectly natural."

Slowly, he descended and nestled among the flowers, closing his eyes in long-needed respite. The buzzing of bees and the gentle sway of sunflowers surrounded him, and for a fleeting moment, the world felt as it should be—calm, happy, and worry-free.

SNAP!

His eyes flew open, jolting toward the sound.

"Must've been my imagination," he muttered, trying to reassure himself. But unease prickled his edges as he snuggled back into the bed of flowers. His emerald gaze wandered to the azure sky.

"HELP ME!"

The peace shattered as a chilling voice pierced the stillness.

Startled, the cloud paled, droplets of rain leaking from his fluffy edges. His heart—if clouds could have hearts—raced as he floated upward, eyes darting in panic.

Near a parting of reeds, he spotted her—a small human girl with slick, oily hair and comically large glasses. Blood stained her left leg, and she whimpered as she threw dirt at something unseen.

"If anyone can hear me, help me!" she cried out. "She's going to kill me!"

The cloud froze. His instinct was to flee, and he darted a few paces into the sky. The wind whistled in his ears as he sped away, but something cracked within, forcing him to stop abruptly. Memories flashed before his eyes—lightning, peril, and a life he had long left behind.

"Am I really going to abandon her?" he whispered to himself. The thought gnawed at his pride. Yes, it was probably a trap, but could he live with himself if he turned away?

With a resigned sigh, the cloud turned back. Lightning flickered along his fluffy fur as a surge of energy crackled through his body. Determined now, he glowed with an electric blue fury.

"I'm not scared!" he roared dramatically (though his voice still sounded far too polite to be a roar). With a zap, he bolted toward the girl, ready to save her.

But just as he reached her, something shifted. The air thickened, pulling him downward.

He struggled, looking around frantically, until he saw her—Isra. Her wild, maniacal grin gleamed as she laughed, eyes alight with mischief.

"You MANIA—" was all he could shout before he was sucked into the device.

And then, the world went dark.
