The human prince blinked at her and furrowed his brows, tilting his head a bit in curiosity.
"Progress with the fae?"
"Yeah..."
She nodded vigorously, glancing at him for confirmation.
"Uhm.." She smiled awkwardly as she scratched her cheek with her index finger. "I know. Famous last words and all but..."
She drew in a breath and sighed.
This was the second time she'd been fully immersed in fae culture and behavior.
It certainly felt like she was understanding them better.
Maybe.
Enough to give her a little hope, even if it was probably false hope.
She felt less like an outsider this time, more confident she wasn't misstepping too badly.
Maybe she'd finally achieved that status as being not wholly out of place?
She shrugged and continued, not looking at him anymore.
It's a weird experience to be so half asleep writing something that when you're done you're not even sure how much you wrote and how much you just sort of dreamed you wrote it. Ugh. The tiredness saga continues.
