Daisy turned around to face the man. After a few moments of silence, she crossed her arms in front of her chest, ''I don't know what gave you the impression that I am in desperate need for your employment opportunity but trust me, I am not,'' As soon as she finished speaking, she left the place without letting the man respond to her words.
Once she was back into the ballroom, she glanced behind herself and sighed in relief noticing that the man had not followed.
Even if he saw through her disguise, they had no connections. This was probably their first and last meeting hence her secret was safe.
No one would know that she was not a man, but a woman.
''Dexter?"
Daisy halted in her tracks when she heard a feminine voice calling out her alibi's name.
''Dexter, I know it's you. What are you avoiding me for?" The woman raised her voice, gaining the attention of a few people who were mingling around them.
Dearies, I would urge you to support this book with powerstones and golden tickets and maybe take some time out to write a review if you like it so far. It's not compulsory and numbers have never been essential for me, but as a writer, I won't deny the small boosts of motivation that it provides me with. It is very easy to lose motivation when you are having a bad day and a bad life and you are doing something that doesn't bring you much. But writing, with the addition of you people in it is my safe haven and I never want to give up on it. I love you <3
