23.72% Kidnap The Protagonist Brother / Chapter 14: Let's Do Some Business

Capítulo 14: Let's Do Some Business

The capital was always bustling with activities ranging from the upper class nobility to the common people. Shirley was always amazed by the hustle and bustle in the capital.

"Hey, we still have time before coming to The Blair's Manor this afternoon, can you spare a little time for me?" Shirley turned to Joseph expectantly.

"What else do you want to do now?" asked Joseph suspiciously, he was not too interested in his sister's invitation.

But, Joseph was also worried about letting Shirley go alone, given how unpredictable Shirley's temper was.

"Come with me to visit the newly opened dessert shop." Shirley was full of anticipation at the moment.

For a moment, Joseph breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that Shirley only wanted to visit the dessert shop.

Joseph thought that Shirley was going to get her into trouble because she was upset about being told to apologise by their father. At least Joseph realised that Shirley's brain was still functioning at the moment.

"If it's just that I don't mind making time for my beloved sister," Joseph replied with a smirk on his face.

Shirley rolled her eyes lazily, annoyed to see Joseph starting to play his tricks to taunt her.

"I immediately regretted asking you," Shirley retorted, turning her face towards the window, she had had enough of Joseph's annoying face.

It could be heard that Joseph just chuckled happily when he saw Shirley upset.

. . .

The dessert shop that Shirley said was in a place that was not too crowded. Not many people were seen there, but one thing Shirley knew was that in two years this place would become very popular in the Kingdom.

"Are you sure you want to eat dessert at this place?" Joseph asked uncertainly, he didn't think Shirley would choose a secluded place like this.

Shirley just smiled and stepped into the shop. Joseph couldn't help but follow her inside.

Once inside Shirley immediately ordered all the menus in the shop.

Joseph, who usually fussed with whatever Shirley did, was currently silent as he did not mind what Shirley was doing at the moment.

"I'm still confused why you chose this place to spend time. Aren't there other stores that are more popular," Joseph said, preferring to ask this.

"You'll know once you try it," Shirley replied briefly.

At the same time the waiters began to arrive to serve Shirley's orders one by one.

"I can't wait to eat all this," said Shirley with shining eyes.

Shirley quickly picked up a cheesecake that looked very delicious. Not only did it look delicious, but Shirley could also taste it in her mouth.

Shirley, who has a sweet tooth, was so happy when she tasted this delicious food that her eyes lit up.

"No wonder they're so popular," Shirley murmured, understanding why this shop would be a favourite in the next two years.

"How do you know this place, Shirley?" After a long period of silence, Joseph finally opened his voice.

"I have my own way of finding good dessert shops," Shirley replied casually.

"Apparently your taste isn't bad either," Joseph replied, nodding his head, finally understanding why Shirley had asked him to come here.

Shirley's eyes widened upon hearing that, she immediately remembered the reason for coming here.

Shirley cleared her throat softly, then tapped lightly on the table to get the attention of Joseph who was enjoying his own cake.

"Brother, I intend to invest in this shop, what do you think?" Shirley asked hopefully.

Joseph's hand movements stopped instantly, and he glared at Shirley fiercely.

"What did you say? Did you hurt your head? You don't usually ask something like this." Joseph was honestly surprised to hear Shirley's words.

"Please, I'm serious right now," Shirley retorted, unsatisfied with Joseph's reaction.

Seeing that Shirley was about to get angry with him, Joseph finally got serious. He cleared his throat before starting to speak.

"It's actually not a bad idea, even though this place is in a place that doesn't attract attention." Joseph began to look at the future prospects of the shop.

"No need to worry about that, I already have a solution. Then, do you know anyone who can help me with this?" Shirley's problem was only one, she had no one she could trust at the moment.

And Shirley could only tell this problem to Joseph because he was the only one she could turn to at the moment.

"I don't know if I can help you with this," Joseph replied uncharacteristically serious.

Although Shirley did not know why Joseph could not help her, she tried to understand that and not push him further.

"No problem then." Shirley only smiled faintly, then continued to enjoy her dessert.

. . .

Finally, the moment that Shirley did not want to do had arrived. It was just that Shirley arrived at the Blair family manor, unaccompanied by Joseph as he had to return to his base immediately.

"Damn, I'm finally alone here," Shirley muttered under her breath.

With heavy steps, Shirley followed Butler who would take her to Victor.

Shirley was escorted to the reading room and had to wait for Victor's arrival there. Shirley did not know how long she would have to wait there.

"Looks like he won't let me go easily this time," Shirley said with a grimace.

Even without being told, Shirley knew that Victor was doing this to her on purpose, she just needed to be patient until Victor arrived.

However, unlike what Shirley had imagined, she had been waiting there for about 4 hours and she had yet to see any sign of Victor coming.

Shirley clenched her fists tightly and pounded her hands on the sofa in annoyance.

"How dare he make me wait this long," Shirley said, unable to stand being there any longer.

Originally, Shirley had intended to leave because she couldn't bear to wait any longer, but she quickly remembered the consequences she would get if she left here without apologising.

As a result, Shirley could only pace restlessly with her thoughts in there.

"I should at least ask." Finally, Shirley decided to go out and ask the Butler who had escorted her earlier.

However, Shirley stopped her steps at the door when she heard a voice from outside. For a moment, Shirley was happy because she thought Victor had finally arrived.

However, the look on her face became worse as the voice she heard was that of a woman she knew well.

"Why is she here?" Shirley was shocked to realise Thalia was in this manor.

Then, it wasn't long before Shirley heard Victor's voice warmly welcoming Thalia and taking her away for tea.

"It looks like they want to mess with me," Shirley said angrily, the corners of her lips already grinning wickedly at this moment.
