Capítulo 42: CHAPTER 39 BEATEN

The two were shocked by this; only Aranold and the elf teacher were not surprised; the latter raised her eyebrow.

'Oh? This is interesting.' She thought after seeing the calm expression of Aranold. She smiled and asked, "You are not surprised; even the person himself is a little bit surprised by my evaluation; you are the only one that thinks my prediction will come true."

Aranold is startled, but he still answers her with a formal tone: "I have sparred with multiple top rankers; I have never even come close to matching them; all of my spars end up making me a punching bag."

He turns to his friend and says, "The sensation that Cleo gives to me is almost similar to that of the weakest top ranker; the only thing that might be holding him back is his lack of genetic enhancement. For the experience, I cannot deny that it is also crucial, but after watching his fight against you, I discovered how he easily adapts to your fighting style and changes his own to counter yours."

The elf teacher nods. "It seems that I underestimated you."

She sighs, "Your earlier attitude has truly disappointed me; I have given up on you. This is why my knowledge regarding your traits is considered lacking compared to your teammates."

Aranold shakes his head. "I do not blame you, teacher; if I were given a student that had the same attitude as my former self, I would also not hesitate to give up on me."

"It seems that you have grown up, you have learned the error in your ways, and you are determined to finally rise up to your full potential. You are admirable, and I will be looking forward to your continuous improvement."

Leon finally realises that the teacher is capable of hearing even his quietest voice, so he decides to only write what he wants to say.

"Wow! Such big words! You just recently stopped your debauchery, and now you are speaking like a trained warrior who spends his entire life diligently training."

His friend's eyebrow twitches. He then passes a note to him, reads it, and looks at his friend with a speechless expression.

"I think that it is better that I should be your matching partner rather than that triclop; I promise that I will hold back."

He glares at him and writes another letter.

"Wait for me to grow stronger; I will be the one treating you nicely in a sparring match."

He raises his head proudly, only to hear his teacher's voice say, "What is that you two are writing about? It seems to be more important than my lessons."

"Aranold started it." Without hesitation, he blames his friend, causing the latter to look at him with a stunned expression.

"It was you that started it!" He indignantly says.

"Oh, really? Then, if that is true, what is written in my letter?" His friend becomes speechless; he cannot say the things written on that piece of paper because if he does, his teacher will question his sincerity.

"Cannot say it? It seems that your lie is not foolproof!" He raises his head proudly, confident about his victory over the blame game.

The next couple of minutes, both he and Aranold were treated as an example for all their teacher's demonstration; their bodies were beaten up beyond recognition; it seems that she is having fun destroying.

"Okay, that is enough for the day. I will check up on the four of you next month. Blake, I want you to focus on your technique; if you are feeling frustrated, you can challenge Cleo in a spar; Sophia, you are lagging behind; think deeply about my suggestion; Aranold, I hope that you do not return to your old way; Cleo, I do not have any accurate advice for you; so I just suggest continuing your rapid progress or you can relax for now and have your mental combat capability catch up with your current strength."

The two are unable to answer her because their mouth, or, more accurately, their entire face, is filled with bruises; groaning will only cause them more pain; the only thing they can do is lie there like corpses.

As the elf teacher walks away, she looks at her hand, and her eyes flash with a bright light. She chuckles and mumbles to herself, "To think that their body is capable of improving on its own by just getting beaten up."

She takes out a book and continues her mumbling, "It seems that the legend regarding the Blitzgher Race is true; they are truly descendants of the ancient dragon race, a fire-type dragon at that; their appearance resembles more that of the sub-dragon race of the water dragon clan."

She ponders and smiles. "So they need something to suppress the raging flame that is brought by the bloodline; no wonder their race is ruled by the female counterpart, even though they consider themselves descendants of the dragon race, which is mostly governed by males."

"That yin stone in his neck is a dead giveaway, but where did he obtain it?"

Leon and Aranold wake up the next day; even with their abnormal regenerative ability, they need nearly an entire day to recover.

"Are you okay, bro?" he asks, seeing his friend still lying on the floor.

"Curse you! You are at fault with our predicament!" His friend shouts, still not trying to stand up. Seeing this, he can only smile in an embarrassed manner.

"I think that we should rest today and continue taking missions tomorrow; we need to recover after that experience," he suggested, which was quickly answered by an agreement from his friend.

After freshening up, Leon stretches his body and quickly realises that he seems to have gained more control over it.

Shaking this thought, he turns to his friend, who still has a beaten-up face. He wants to laugh but holds himself back, which at least makes him angry again.

"So, are you finally able to walk?" His stomach has been complaining since he opened his eyes. He wants to go to the canteen and have a feast.
