Lady Everglade had both the authority and manpower to uncover the secrets surrounding him. Valerius didn't doubt that.

A quick investigation on her part would lead her to the discovery that the teleportation door Valerius had acquired was never destroyed because of her son. 

Instead, it was merely stored in a storage space capable of containing it without breaking them.

This would put Valerius under scrutiny because such storage spaces were as rare as chancing upon a phoenix feather. 

It would also endanger the agreement he had made with Lady Everglade; she could accuse him of deceiving her and as punishment take away the key to the Cursed Garden she had given to him in exchange for keeping quiet about a certain affair.

Hence, this information must never be made public.

That's why he made such a demand.
