Chapter 15
The trip was cut down to a single day letting us reach the great western forge in the middle of the night. Stopping the mechas a hundred yards from the front of the mile-high building I observed it with awe.
"Not every day you get to see something so spectacular huh?" Came a voice I recognized, freezing in place I tensed, and an explosive sigh came from behind me,
"Let me guess you don't want to talk to a cave troll either," quickly turning around I tried to salvage the situation "No, no you don't understand I haven't met a cave troll before… dang you're huge!" The first part of my sentence was to try and explain my awkward reaction, but then I noticed how absolutely massive the famous Shane gang's mechanic was. I rushed over in excitement looking up at the behemoth. "Dang it!" I cried "I wish I could get this huge how do you do it, and don't you dare say genetics."
Kord's Pov
I stared at the little human in front of me. He seemed… peculiar but like a nice guy. Lord tried not to judge a person too much before getting to know them. Chuckling at the half-raging, half-awed human I tried to calm him down.
"Yeah it's not all genetic, I go to the gym every week," I flexed my bicep which elicited an envious groan from the human. Turning my attention to the three mechas I was a little worried to see the three goons, I recognized the black, grey, and red designs that anyone that Dr. Black hired seemed to wear. Each was cuffed hand and foot and lined up on one of the mechas, I turned back to the human and gestured over my shoulder at the group,
"What's up with them?" The human nodded and started to explain. "Well I was on my way on foot to buy a mecha beast, when I met these three standing in the middle of the road," here he paused and a snicker came from underneath the helmet on his head,
"Then the one said "hand over all your slugs and we'll let you pass," ha ha ha," at this point the mysterious human was dying from laughter. "Isn't that the stupidest thing? Like, come on man at least put a little originality in it!" One of the thugs was flushed red in embarrassment, and anger. Seeing this I couldn't contain a smile, and chuckled, "So of course, I won, threw them in chains, and brought them with me to return to the proper authorities," I nodded along to his declaration.
Iriel Pov
At first, I was terrified, what if meeting Kord somehow messed with canon, so I tried to act like any other person would. I might have gone a little overboard on my acting, but at least he helped me turn everything into the authorities after getting my statement, and a video my helmet had recorded, I was free to go. After leaving the SUF (Slingers of United Forces) I was led back to the great western forge, by Kord. He was a great guy, kind to everyone, honest to a fault, and really insightful to emotions both slug and human. We hit it off, making jokes, laughing, and just having a good time. One topic that we got into was our gym workouts. Yeah, who would have thought the, absolutely, massive cave troll of the Shane gang, went to the gym... but anyway after talking we finally reached the front of the great western forge, and the head engineer Grendel personally welcomed us in.
"So you bees looking fore eh mecha beast now do'ya?" his typical Scottish accent was heavy enough to make it difficult to understand him, but thankfully I had the greatest translator named Kord. "Yeah, Grendel he needs a mecha-beast got any good ones?" the giant forge master rubbed his chin in thought, "weelll... there bees the RB-6," Kord's face lit up like a Christmas tree. "YOU FINISHED IT!"
