Su Pan'er listened carefully in the firewood room, her brows furrowed. Could it be the quack doctor who treated Qin Yi?
As the door creaked open, Qin Yi stepped over the threshold and into the firewood room.
"Old Uncle Hu, thank you so much for all your trouble."
Following Qin Yi and Qin Yu into the room was an elderly man in his fifties with silvery hair. He glanced at Su Pan'er with his dimming eyes, a hint of unnoticed contempt flashing across his gaze, but his face was filled with a friendly and genial smile.
"Doctors have a parental heart, this is what Old Uncle Hu should do. This must be your new wife? She does look quite auspicious."
Su Pan'er lifted her eyelids and gave the old man an indifferent once-over, speaking in an extraordinarily flat tone.
