Capítulo 418: I'm not failing the assignment, I'm slowly progressing it

Isabelle glanced at her husband and immediately wished she hadn't.

That infuriating, sexy little smirk graced her husband's features.

His golden eyes danced with mirth as he examined her flushed cheeks, and his expression grew even more amused.

She was all too aware that she couldn't hide her emotions from him, and he was well aware that she wanted him.

Damn him.

She refused to admit it though.

She would be obstinate if she had to.

Being a stubborn empress was her prerogative, after all.

He merely laughed at her expression, sounding utterly pleased with himself, and pulled her closer, tugging her into his lap. "Tell me what troubles you, dearest."

She frowned and fidgeted a bit. "You know damn well what troubles me."

Phoenix nuzzled her neck. "...but you're avoiding talking about it..."

"Why would I? We both know how the conversation would go. You'd just distract me further." She mumbled.
