In a realm of black void, where only distant stardust twinkled, everything else was engulfed in nothingness. 

Dominating this space was a face that materialized out of the void — Nyx, the Goddess of Night, one of the Ancient Ones.

Facing the captured paladin leader from Beaconburg, Nyx began to unleash her newly acquired divine powers, obtained after devouring the remains of the ninth dark god. 

A chaotic mist swirled around Alan, filled with all manner of bizarre visions.

Here, in this realm, it seemed as if time itself was stripped away. 

Alan was on the brink of collapse under the "baptism" of these illusions — exactly what Nyx had hoped for. 

Her aim was to shatter Alan's consciousness, making him kneel before her pomegranate skirt.

Currently unable to contend with the Almighty God, the God of Light, she found it more than sufficient to deal with this follower of the God of Light from the Human World.
