“Say something.” Say anything, she sniffed.

Rafiq shook his head and gently removed her hands from his face. “Aziza, you know that this is something I would rather not discuss. Where is all this coming from?”

He ran his fingers through his hair as he took a step back from her. “I thought we were enjoying our time together. We are compatible—happy is that not enough?”

Ziza scoffed and raised her eyebrows. “I tell you I love you, and all you can think about is how good our sex life is?”

Rafiq momentarily lost his grip on his composure and snapped. “What else do you want me to say, Aziza?!”

That’s when her face crumbled. It was a sight that sliced at his heart, but he rooted himself in his spot.

“How about starting with how you were planning to marry another woman behind my back!” She crossed her arms.
