“Ziza?” She heard him say.
“I—well, it was kind of my—actually the whole thing was my entire fault.”
“I’m listening.”
“I didn’t double-check the list”
“Ziza, I know about the damn list. That’s what people have been going on about since you left. I want to know what happened that night.” He said. There was a slight pause before she spoke.
“I may or may not have hit the prince of this our nation.” She bit her lip, waiting for Ferran’s reaction. He opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water, then his eyebrows furrowed.
“I—what? Is this some a joke that’s supposed to be funny?”
“No. It explains why I went AWOL for those days. I got arrested.” Then she mumbled, “Faizah had to bail me out.”
