The moment she noticed the other person's expression gradually darkened, Mary reckons that she could no longer keep her bold act. She snapped back to reality and tried to explain herself desperately as the sinking feeling crept into her heart. 

"O-of course not!" she yelled. "Why would I do that? I'm just being genuine about my feelings— Ouch! L-let go, Cara. It hurts!" Mary snaked her shoulders out of her grasp painstakingly.

When she saw a red mark left on her skin, she didn't like it. 'Damn it! This girl is too much of a brute when triggered.'

Although she was jealous of the fact that Cara was able to snag herself a reliable and elegant man unlike her sloppy and fat husband, she was not surprised. She had seen her getting scouted by modeling agents a few times in the past all thanks to her good figure.
