Previously, Kythe had encountered Nemus during the day that the black serpent went to hunt for the famished female. Seeing that the black snake only emits a six-streak gem aura, obviously weaker than his seven-streak deep amber gem, he immediately thought that he could take the black snake down. 

However, after lying in wait for the ambush and sneaking an attack on the other guy, he found himself unable to penetrate his defense.

'Damn scaly bastard!' He almost freaked out when his plan to bite him in half flopped miserably. Only to invoke the menace of the other being, staring him down with its pair of bloody red serpent pupils.

The proud wolf's mighty fangs could only scratch the black adamantine scales that swiftly covered the man's skin like some sort of protective gear. And to his surprise, the venomous black elapid was also uncanny fast, and strong even with his visible purple bruises―the ones that Nemus received from Regalus' thrashing.
