Capítulo 131: Chapter 130

[Third Person's PoV]

"My love, Daddy is back. Come, let me hold you," Cid said with a smile, stretching out his arms and taking Celeste away from Aurora's hand, sitting on the bed next to her.

From his shadow, both Beru and Bellion appeared, surprising the others as they hadn't met Bellion before.

"So this is the young Monarch. She is as you described, my lord; she is very cute," Bellion said with a serious face, nodding his head.

Beru covered his eyes with his hands. "Peek-a-boo!"

Celeste let out small giggles, seeing Beru's actions, which caused the others to smile.

Cid patted her head. 'Who would have thought my own daughter would be a reincarnator just like me? Luckily for me, her soul is still very young, so I don't have anything to worry about.'

Slowly, Cid started checking her memories, which caused his lips to twitch.

'Oi, I didn't choose this name, okay!? And who are you calling old?' Cid thought to himself before inwardly crying, 'My daughter was just born and she's already making fun of me.'

"May I hold her, my liege?" Beru asked softly, filled with expectation.

"What, I want to hold her as well," Delta said.

"I do as well!" the others intervened.

Cid and Aurora looked at each other with an awkward smile. "Alright, but be careful."

"Absolutely, my Liege, I will handle her with the utmost care," Beru said as he softly picked up Celeste from Cid's arms.

Celeste made random baby noises and reached over, taking hold of Beru's antenna.

Cid then turned towards Aurora. "So, how are you feeling?" he asked softly.

"Like I just gave birth," Aurora said, leaning back on the bed.

Cid chuckled before kissing the side of her forehead. "Thank you."

Aurora smiled softly before resting her head against Cid's shoulder.

He watched as they all took turns holding Celeste. He observed how awkward Igris was as he held her, treating her like she was the most valuable thing in the universe, which, to Cid, wasn't wrong.

Cid then whispered, "I'll be right back; I need to have a talk with someone."

Aurora nodded in understanding as Cid disappeared and appeared behind Claire, picking her up. She let out a yelp as she was taken by surprise, and both she and Cid disappeared from where they stood.

They reappeared on top of the Castle, overlooking the city of Nightingale.

"So, talk to me. Why the sad face?" Cid asked.

Claire let out a sigh. "You know why."

Cid nodded. "I still want to hear it. It's better for you to get it off your chest."

Claire bit her lip in frustration as she asked, "Are you truly my brother? Are you truly Cid, the little brother who I grew up with, and not some type of god that took over his body?"

"Yes and No."

"What?" Claire asked, a bit surprised and horrified.

"Wait, let me clarify," Cid said. "I'm still the same person who came out of our mother. I've always been me since I popped out, so you don't have to worry about that."

Claire looked at Cid and saw that he wasn't lying but inwardly smiled in a self-deprecating manner, 'Not like I could tell if he was putting up a front.'

Claire nodded her head. "Then what about the 'No' part?" Her expression was serious.

"I was supposed to be a stillborn, or the baby in our mother's body was supposed to be, anyways. You were never supposed to have a brother in the first place."

'Which is the truth. Due to my inexperience with my powers, I failed to realize the aura of death in the body I inhabited, or more like I failed to realize what the aura I was sensing during that time was. But I'm certain of it now, which most likely means the original Cid also inhabited a stillborn.'

Claire stood rooted in shock, having a hard time processing the information. Cid went and hugged Claire, causing her to hug him tighter, afraid that if she let go, he wouldn't be the Cid she knew but a completely different person.

"Why would you tell me that? Why couldn't you have just said yes and be done with it?" Claire choked.

"To show you my sincerity. I could have just told you the half-truth and be done with it, but with this, I'm showing my honesty, that I'm not lying to you about anything and giving you 100 percent of the truth," Cid explained.

Claire's lip started to quiver slightly as she held onto Cid's neck. "Thank you... And thank you for being my little brother."

Cid smiled as he hugged Claire back. "Anytime... Little sis."

"Hell no," she said, separating from him and looking at him with an emotionless look.

"What?" Cid asked with a teasing smirk.

"You could be a billion years old for all I care. You aren't taking away my privileges as a big sister. Since you, Cid, are 15 years old, you are my little brother. No matter how many lifetimes you have behind you, nothing, and I mean literally nothing, would ever change that. Got it?" Claire said, gaining a dangerous glint in her eyes.

"I understand, little sis, I completely understand" Cid nodded with a smirk.

Claire took a hold of Cid's shoulders and looked him dead in his eyes with dark spiraling eyes, "Don't Fuck with me, you are my little brother. So as your older sister, You're supposed to show me respect. So say it, call me big sister or big sis, one of those two. We're not leaving from this spot until you do so"

Cid rolled his eyes with an amuse look, "Yeah, Yeah, Onee-san, whatever you say"

"I don't know what language you just used but it still felt you were calling me your big sister, so I'll count it as my win" She nodded.

She then wrapped her arms around Cid's neck and gave him a kiss.

"Now then, let's go, I want to meet my little niece… I can't believe I'm an aunt already" Claire cheerfully sighed as sank into her shadow.

As she appeared alongside Cid they found Celeste being carried by Sherry.

Cid noticed a glint in Sherry's eyes as she gazed upon Celeste,

'A baby between Cid and I, it would be a true family between us. And it wouldn't be made out of lies' Sherry thought growing fonder and fonder with the idea of Cid and her having a child together.

Claire went and asked to hold her, Sherry looked a bit reluctant but handed her off nonetheless.

"Now come to Titi" Claire said in a small baby voice

'Titi?' They all inwardly wondered, including Celeste.

Capítulo 132: Chapter 131

[Third Person's PoV]

In a secret Laboratory…

"So, did you get them?" A young boy with shoulder-length white hair and red eyes coldly asked a man with brown hair who seemed devoid of emotions.

"Yes, Lord Fenrir, but they were much more difficult to acquire than we would have liked, so we weren't able to gather many of them," the man replied.

The boy looked towards the man in displeasure. "Are you saying they were too strong for you to acquire their corpses?"

"Yes and no, my lord. Yes, they were strong and difficult to defeat, but that wasn't the reason we failed to collect the monster corpses. It was due to the interference of these shadow beings. We tried to attack them, but we stood no chance, and when left alone, they focused entirely on eliminating the monsters."

Fenrir gritted his teeth in frustration and muttered, "Shadow Garden, curse them."

"Were you at least able to enter the portals that spawned?" Fenrir asked, hoping for a positive answer.

"Yes, but those who went in never came out. The shadow beings were the ones who entered, and as they came out, the portals closed immediately, not giving us a chance to examine them," the man explained.

Fenrir banged his fist on the metal wall, causing a large indent as the outer part crumbled towards the center of the impact.

"They are seriously getting on my nerves. The worst part is how elusive they are; no one knows where they come from or where they are located. They just come and go as they please. All we know about them is their mysterious power to wield shadows and that they possess soldiers made of shadow…"

As Fenrir mentioned that, he put a hand on his chin and began to ponder. 'They arrived very fast, too fast even. They might be aware of something, something we don't know. Which shouldn't be possible, but we don't know much about Shadow Garden either, so there's that as well. They might know the cause of the realm collision or whatever just occurred; they may very well be the cause of it.'

After thinking it over, Fenrir released a tired sigh. "Bring me the corpses you were able to collect; they are still of use," he ordered, causing the man to nod in acknowledgment and carry out his instructions.

**Lawless Town: White Tower**

Yukime looked at her two servants with an acknowledging glance after their report, her face hidden behind a fan.

"Alright, so none of my girls were killed during this invasion of monsters and shadow beings, which, if I had to guess, belong to Azrael, or as he calls himself now, Shadow, killed all of them," Yukime summarized, nodding her head.

"Thank you; you girls are dismissed," Yukime said with a smile.

The two beastkin girls bowed before they left Yukime alone in her room. Sensing solitude, she let out a wistful sigh. "If only I was able to talk to him more and sincerely express my thanks."

"Hehehe, I know how you feel," the soft, beautiful voice of a woman said, causing the hairs of Yukime's tails to stand on end.

Yukime rose from her seat, assuming a defensive stance with her fan, scanning the room for the source of the voice.

"Show yourself, intruder," she demanded coldly, her magical powers surging.

A giggle emanated from the voice. "Is that any way to talk to your mother, young lady?" she teased.

Yukime's expression grew colder as her killing intent intensified. "Show yourself," she authorized.

"I'm right below you," the voice softly stated.

Confused, Yukime looked down warily, witnessing a pair of purple eyes manifesting in her shadow.

Her shadow extended outward, and a figure emerged—a being with purple glowing skin, dark hair, fox ears, and nine black tails with purple glowing tips.

Yukime was surprised to see her and lowered her fan, quivering.

"Hey—" Before Yukihime had a chance to introduce herself properly, she was practically tackled, causing her to step back.

Yukime wrapped her arms around Yukihime as tears flowed down her cheeks. "Mommy," Yukime choked.

Yukihime looked towards her daughter with a soft smile tinged with sadness, wrapping her arms around Yukime reassuringly. "How much you've grown, my little one."

"Mommy," Yukime kept repeating over her own sobs. She held on tightly, as if afraid that if she let go, Yukihime might disappear forever.

"There, there, I'm here," Yukihime said, patting Yukime's hair gently.

Yukime looked up after a few long minutes of crying. "It's really you, but how? We buried you; I was there to witness it," she asked, forcing herself to calm down.

"How did you figure out so quickly that I'm really your mother?" Yukihime teased, seeing her daughter had no doubt about who she was.

"You, of all people, should know we beastkins have sharp senses and instincts. I just knew right away when I saw… so how?" Yukime sniffled.

Yukihime smiled. "Look at me, what do I remind you of?"

Yukime grew confused and examined her mother carefully before her eyes widened in shock. "Azrael…"

Yukihime nodded. "Thanks to my lord, I'm now able to walk the land of the living once more."

Yukime looked at her mother with sadness. "So you truly did die that day, didn't you?"

Yukihime nodded again. "If you go back, you should still be able to find my corpse. What you see before you is a manifestation of my soul."

Yukime softly smiled. "It looks like I owe Azrael another debt. I don't know how I'll possibly be able to pay him back."

Yukihime looked at her daughter teasingly. "You can always become his supportive wife."

Yukime was surprised by the idea, especially coming from her mother. 'I'm still a virgin, so I should make a great offering.'

Yukime unexpectedly started shedding more tears. Yukihime wiped her tears with her thumb as she gently held her cheek. "Why are you crying now, my little crybaby?"

"These are tears of joy. I'm so happy… I'm so happy I get to be with you again."
