"I don't believe that Lynn left me to go have a drink. It isn't like her. She was so eager to stay here so what would have made her drink something? I just can't bring myself to stop thinking that someone hurt her and I couldn't protect her," Hazel said, still filled with guilt.
After crying over Lynn's death, Hazel calmed down and rested her head on Tobias's lap. She was no longer tired enough to want to sleep as her mind was filled with thoughts about who would have hurt Lynn.
It was hard to come to terms with the fact that Lynn was dead. As Tobias said, he would not joke about something like this to her and it was best for her sanity that she did not go to see how Lynn was found. It might haunt her for the rest of her life.
"She's my maid but what has she done to anyone? What had I done to anyone for them to target her?" Hazel wondered.
