"In that case, I choose...all of them."
The old man looked surprised by my answer.
"All of them, you say? Hahaha, That's quite greedy. No one has ever tried to wield the power of all seven servants before. The strain could destroy you."
I shook my head resolutely. "I won't know until I try. Each one grants skills I'll need to survive in this new world. Together, their powers will give me the best chance. Plus isn't that the more entertaining option" I said with a sly smile.
The old man studied me for a moment before chuckling and shrugging his shoulders. "As you wish."
One by one, I felt the Class Cards merge with my being. It was overwhelming at first but gradually, I could feel them settle within me, complementing each other rather than conflicting.
"Incredible..." muttered the old man. "You've managed to synchronize with all seven. Perhaps you are ready after all." I looked at my arm and I now had a tattoo going from the back of my hand up to my elbow. Another difference was I felt powerful my body felt lighter, and I felt better, faster, and stronger. Enjoying the feeling lips couldn't help but curve into a smile.
He waved his hand, conjuring a shimmering portal. "This will take you to the world I spoke of. One where superheroes battle villains while trying to live normal lives. Use your newfound gifts wisely and create a story that you are proud to call your own."
"Thanks, old man, I'll be sure to entertain you." I took a deep breath and just when about to step through the portal the old man spoke up again.
"I also threw in some personal skills for you as well as a few other things, you can think of it as a starter package."
"I see, thank you. Goodbye." And with that, I stepped through the portal as a bright flash enveloped me. When it faded, I found myself in an alleyway. I felt different as if new information had been stuffed inside my head such as various historical knowledge, and languages as well as knowledge about the fate universe. I also found myself holding onto a mysterious book in my hands, looking at this book I instantly knew what it was. I decided to wait to go over my newfound wealth of information, not sure about the safety of the alleyways I quickly walked toward the main street. Stepping into a dark, gritty cityscape surrounded by looming gothic architecture and ominous gargoyles. I had an idea of where I was but decided to confirm. Looking around I saw people rushing as if there weren't enough hours in a day. I tried to get the attention of a few people but it seems that the people in the city are extremely wary of strangers.
So in order to find some information I found a newspaper, and just as I thought I was in the DC Universe more specifically I was in Gotham City and the date was April 30th, 2010.
Walking through the streets of Gotham that were gloomy even though the sun was high in the sky. I took in the sights that should have only existed inside of a comic book. I decided I needed to get my bearings and figure out my next steps. Spotting an abandoned mall, I ducked inside, hoping it would provide temporary shelter while I gathered my thoughts.
First, I took stock of what I had on me. First, the book that I was carrying when I was first summoned. It wasn't just a normal book but my own personal Noble Phantasm. Reaching into my pockets, I pulled out my cell phone, wallet, a pair of headphones, and a face mask - standard items for a high school student. The only thing out of the ordinary was two things that I was sure weren't there before, a shuriken, and a Celtic rune stone. I knew exactly what these were they were catalysts, ones that when used with my book would allow me to summon Heroic Spirits.
My cell phone didn't have service in this reality, so it was useless maybe I could sell it. my wallet had about 100 dollars in it so that was something but that was it my bank cards and ID were now also useless.
Now It was time to get down to business I needed to summon my first Heroic Spirit I was stronger than a base human now but I was still far from where I needed to be. The DC Universe was filled with heavy hitters and currently, I wasn't up to par especially when I didn't know which iteration of the universe I was in. So I took out the Celtic rune stone, right now what I really needed was a teacher, so without wasting any more time I quickly brought out my book entering into a trance-like state as I began the summoning ritual.
I could feel the thrum of magical energy flowing through me as I prepared to summon my first Heroic Spirit. The pages of my book which were previously blank now had words that I couldn't understand on its pages. A large magical circle appeared on the ground as I began speaking the chant, the words began to glow beckoning across space and time.
"Guardian of the Land of Shadows, Witch of Dun Scaith, Godslayer and Gatekeeper!
Hear my call across the swirling eddies of time and heed my summons!
Come forth from your realm beyond the ocean's mist.
Your wisdom as a teacher, your might as a warrior - I seek them both.
By the power bestowed upon me, by my command spell, I call out to you!
Show yourself with spear aloft and runes ablaze!
Join me now in this fight against the merciless tides of evil!
Open the gate and step through, Celt's daughter, immortal Queen of the Land of Shadows!
Take form once more as my stalwart ally and together we shall carve a path to victory!
For the glory of your Master, heed my summons and appear, Lancer!"
The air grew heavy with power as the ritual neared completion. With a final utterance, a burst of light filled the empty mall.
When it faded, a figure stood before me - a tall, beautiful woman with long purple hair cascading down her back. She was clad in tight black clothes with armor on her shoulders, wearing a black mask similar to Kakashi. Her red eyes gazed at me intently, flickering with an inner fire. This was the Witch of Dun Scaith - Scáthach.
"I am the Servant Lancer. I ask you, are you my Master?" her voice was rich yet dangerous.
I nodded. "I am. My name is Eli Adler, I called you here to help me in this world. There are dark forces that must be stopped."
She smiled, seeming pleased by my resolution. "Very well. I shall lend you my spear and my runic magics. Together, we will carve a path through the evils that plague this land."
I returned her smile. "Thank you, Scáthach." With the addition of this legendary warrior and mage, I felt more confident about making my way in the DC universe. Her skills would balance my own burgeoning abilities.
