Capítulo 17: Chapter 16

"How can he not help?" Michi asked. "Do you think years worth of feelings can just disappear in an instant? He's just being cold to you because you rejected him many times and he wants to get over you. Do not give him the chance. This is the time to take advantage of those feelings!"

Still, Hiro felt it was wrong. He didn't want to use Raiden's feelings for him to get what he wanted.

But then, his sister...

"Oh oh, here he comes. Here he comes!" Michi panicked and pushed Hiro towards the car with force.

Hiro stumbled a few times but regained his footing then meekly walked towards the car. He crossed his fingers, hoping Raiden would not be cold to him anymore. The first time was horrible and he didn't want to experience such a thing again. He was used to it when it came from people he didn't know but Raiden....he was different. Hiro couldn't understand how but he was just different.

Although he was still somewhat afraid of Raiden because of the whole stalking thing that happened years ago, he didn't have as much hatred in him as he had 4 years ago. He found that didn't despise Raiden now as he did then.

The driver saw Hiro approaching and quickly blocked his path. "What do you want?" he asked, eyeing Hiro up from head to toe.

Hiro was dressed in a pair of faded black shorts, exposing his white slim legs and an olive coloured knitted sweater which had one or two holes. His slippers looked like they had been taken from the trash and the only presentable part about him was his pretty face.

"I-I want to see Raiden." Hiro nervously stared up at the tall buff driver. He was dressed in a black uniform with 6 golden buttons, a black tie and a black and gold Kepi on top of his cropped black hair.

The driver frowned upon hearing Hiro address his boss by his first name. "Go away kid. The boss has no time for the likes of you."

Hiro always hated it when anyone called him a kid. Just because he didn't look his age didn't mean he'd be undermined.

"I'm not a kid. I'm 23. My name is Watanabe Hiro and I was Raiden's junior in high school" he explained. "I just need to speak with him for a few minutes."

He then looked at Raiden who was gazing up the stairs of his company, completely ignoring him. They weren't that far apart so Hiro was sure that Raiden could hear him speaking with the driver. Why didn't he say anything then? Why was he still ignoring him?

He wondered what Raiden was looking at. Gazing in the same direction, he saw a young man of maybe 20-25 walking down the stairs. The man was averagely tall and gorgeous with neat blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.

As the man got closer, Raiden held out his hand and when their fingers touched, Raiden bent his head and planted a kiss on the back of the man's hand to which the man blushed.

Hiro was stunned. Was Raiden dating the gorgeous man?

"Where would you like to go for dinner?" Hiro heard Raiden ask.

"I'm craving Italian food." the gorgeous man replied. His voice was low and refined. Like royalty.

Raiden smiled. "I know just the place." He then opened the door for the man and they both got into the car.

The driver looked at his boss then turned back to Hiro. "As you can see, Mr Yamato is busy. Better luck next time."

Without waiting for Hiro to talk, the driver got into the car and drove away.

Michi came out of his hiding place and hurried towards Hiro, shaking his head. "Damn, Hiro, I think you've lost Raiden forever. He didn't even look at you."

Hiro didn't know what to feel. There was a mixture of sadness, anger and disappointment in his heart. The sadness was towards his sister for he didn't know what to do to get 5 million yen for her surgery. The anger and disappointment were towards himself for wanting to deceive Raiden in order to save his sister.

Maybe it was a good thing Raiden was ignoring him. It wouldn't be right for him to go to Raiden for help when he knew he could never return his feelings.

"Hey stop crying" Saika said, slowly stroking Hiro's sandy brown locks. He was sitting on a chair beside her bed, his head resting by her lap. "We all knew this was going to happen sooner or later."

"Don't talk like that" Hiro sniffled, raising his head to look at her. She was very frail. Like a thin white porcelain doll. Her dark hair was made into two pigtails and although she looked sick, her dark eyes were full of life. Hiro could tell that she didn't want to go. She wasn't ready. She was too young.

"There's a cure sis. Big brother and I are going to work hard. We're going to get you that transplant."

Saika sighed, lowering her hand. She didn't want to get false hope. How could her brothers raise 5 million in such a short amount of time? Once she gets another heart attack, that was it. She had long known that her body was rejecting most of the medications and one day, her life would come to an end.

"You don't have to tell me such things Hiro. I know you two can't afford it. Tell Big brother not to take any more loans because of me. I've caused you two enough trouble anyway." Her voice was soft and weak. Slightly croaky and a bit above a whisper.

"Stop it sis" Hiro sobbed. He didn't like the things she was saying. She sounded like she was giving up. "Stop talking like this. Stop talking as if you want to leave us. You're not a burden. How many times will I tell you that?"

"But isn't it because of me that you're growing thinner everyday?" She asked, lightly grazing his cheek with her fingers. "You think I wouldn't notice? You're starving yourself to take care of me Hiro. You shouldn't have to do this. I'm the one who's supposed to take care of you."

Hiro shook his head, completely disagreeing with what she said. "We're a family. We're supposed to take care of each other. I don't care what you say. We're going to get you that transplant."

"He's right" they heard a familiar voice say. They turned to see Sora walking in. He rounded the bed and stood by her side, taking her bony hand in his. "We're not going to give up on you, Saika. We're a family and we're going to fight this together."

"How?" she asked, gazing up at her big brother. "By taking more loans?"

"I'll do it if that's what it takes to make you live." Sora answered. "Saika, don't give up so easily. Ever since mum and dad went to prison, we've stuck together. We've been through thick and thin and we've all survived. One way or the other, we are going to get through this."

"But-"

"No buts" Sora snapped. "Do you even realise the impact of your words? Look at our little brother. He has been crying non-stop since he heard the news and instead of consoling him, you're making him cry even more. What if he falls sick?"
