"Perhaps we could have made them allies? They are just as much against Viktor as we are perhaps, we could have tried to convince them to join our coup," I asked Aldric. With Aldric beside me, they might have listened to us.

"They couldn't be our allies," Aldric said as he shook his head. he shook his bloodied sword and put it back in its sheath. "There was no avoiding killing them. Their fate was sealed the moment I found you. Viktor is going to have this case thoroughly investigated. They were going to be arrested if I spared their lives, only to be sentenced to death by Viktor. Viktor would have had them tortured in his extremely sadistic ways." Aldric explained. "I gave them a mercy killing if you will, to spare them of any suffering they would've received otherwise."
