Capítulo 9: chapter 9 : Kurono's Exploits
The statue swung its hand in the air and a great wind gushed behind the others' backs, propelling them at high speed into the temple.
This wind was so strong that it came right up to me who was sitting on the highest roof and fortunately I had good support, it was really impressive.
As for the others, everyone was fine except the preacher who had died breaking his neck when he fell in front of the steps of the temple, I would have killed him later anyway. The new ones started to panic and it rather made me laugh, I lit a cigarette while watching Kato looking for me.
I wanted to see how the others were doing without me and I was rather disappointed at how easily they could lose their cool but it was still understandable considering the size of the statue in front of them, it was quite terrifying for them and unlike me, they had no training.
Suddenly, Kurono as I expected showed himself to be the fiercest, he took an X shot gun and rushed towards the statue. Keï had extremely sharp Instincts and reflexes when it came to his survival.
In normal life he is quite weak but when faced with mortal danger he had certain resources that would make many assassins jealous and I saw it on our previous mission.
Once he had faced and killed the first Martian Tanaka, he didn't have much problem killing a second where Nishi and the others were in big trouble.
Kurono slipped between the statue's legs and pulled on the statue's right ankle, after a few seconds the ankle exploded.
He did the same with the left ankle of the monster which found itself on its knees and without feet.
Without even giving the monster a reaction time, he grabbed an x gun in his left hand and with the two guns, he aimed at the giant's two arms which also exploded.
Without arms or legs, the giant statue lay helpless before Kurono closed in on the head and finished it off with his X shotgun which blew the giant's skull off.
Kurono was out of breath but the others were rather shocked by the hero's performance before all bursting with joy and congratulating Keï, I was impressed.
He ignored the others and went to sit with his sexual partner from earlier, they started talking while waiting for Gantz's transfer because they thought it was over but soon, smaller statues and more human sizes began to appear, they were quite numerous.
Three of these statues appeared near me and they were quite weak since I killed them in less than 4 seconds with the Gantz saber.
I watched the others fight the statues below before noticing someone interesting.
It was Kurono's sexual partner who had started the fight with the statues. She seemed to have good foundations in close combat and with the power of the suit that she was able to exploit thanks to the advice of her new lover, she literally broke the face of each statue that came to confront her.
In truth, it was beautiful to see. She was definitely the kind of girl that could pique my interest and in addition to having hair like Lara Croft she also fought like her, well done Kurono.
One of the new hunters was lying on a roof below mine, he was apparently a sniper since he eliminated the statues that were on the ground from a distance with his X shotgun, he was very good by the way and it was a good thing our little gang has such a new element.
I decided to imitate him and earn points at sniper, God only knows how good I was at precision shooting and that's also where I made a second major discovery, the viewfinder could select multiple targets at once.
Once the screen on my gun had them locked, I could fire as many times as I wanted without switching from one target to another.
I fired exactly 7 times and the invisible projectiles from the rifle directed themselves towards the screen-locked targets. There, seven statues exploded into pieces.
I whistled at this discovery and for this to be possible, the targets had to be close to each other to appear in the viewfinder for several seconds .
The others below who were fighting suddenly saw several statues explode at the same time and were very surprised, until now no one had noticed me and it was quite amusing.
The fighting continued until from the main temple, a large statue of Buddha at least 20 meters high emerged.
Speechless, the others watched as the huge statue came out and you could see the shock on their faces.
"I'm going to do it to myself, he's mine..." Kurono said confidently and rushed towards the statue despite her new companion's attempts to dissuade him.
In front of the statue, he shot one of the feet but the power of the shot was too weak and it only left a small, shallow wound due to the size of the statue.
Kurono, surprised by the ineffectiveness of his attack, was sent flying by a kick from the statue and not only did this blow take away Keï but also Nishi who until now was in stealth mode with the same idea of attack.
This scene was so funny that I couldn't help but burst out laughing, it looked like a human trying to crush two cockroaches.
Everyone started fighting against the statue with Kurono at the front trying to hurt it again and again until the latter had a flash of genius.
The Sniper on the roof during the attacks had made a large wound on the statue's forehead so Kurono first took a big swing before jumping with the full power of the suit which propelled him straight into the wound like he was a missile.
That crazy Keï went straight inside the statue's head and with my psychic sight I saw him attack from the inside with his gun until finally the giant fell dead and Kurono the headache leave by his mouth.
At the same time, Kato and the others had eliminated the smaller statues that remained in sight.
I knew Kurono was resourceful but this time he really amazed me, the effect was the same for everyone who started shouting his name and even Nishi was shocked.
Kato noticed that the transfer still hadn't started so he looked on his radar and I did the same to find two more alien signatures, a statue that was moving quite quickly across the field and the second signature was in a a hall near the main temple.
Kato asked the sniper to stay on the roof just in case and sent Nishi, Hojo, the creepy girl and some new ones to the other signature room while the rest went to take care of the last statue on the ground, they all thought the boss was the big Buddha killed by Kei and even me too so I just waited patiently.
Contrary to what they all believed, the statue on the ground was really very fast and easily dodged attacks from Kurono and the others.
I continued to watch in amusement when the smile I had disappeared due to a bad feeling I had while looking at the small room where the second signature was.
[GENERAL POV]
The group was still attacking the statue which dodged each of their attacks when suddenly, the statue jumped very high to escape but a shadow hit the statue before it split in two.
The shadow that had sliced the statue was none other than Yami who landed near the group.
Kishimoto + Kato: YAMI !
Kurono: Hey, the ghost, where have you been?
Yami: I was smoking a little cigarette on the roof while having fun with my rifle and my saber. Listen, we're going to talk about it later because we have to rescue the other team first.
Kurono: Were you smoking ? While we were risking our lives you… (interrupted)
Yami: Stop that, it's true that you're confident but I have the impression that a bigger threat is coming and you'll need my help this time. By the way Kato and Lara Croft over there (pointing to the girl) you sure did with the smaller statues too (thumbs up).
Kurono: Dude, stop talking like you're our boss or whatever! Kishimoto may have had a crush on you and Kato but now I have someone too, we did very well without you and we can continue like this without any problem.
Yami: You can believe me, I just want you to become stronger on your own... Wait, what does this have to do with poor Kishimoto ?
Kato + Kishimoto + Lara Croft: ?!!
Kurono:... None... anyway you can go back to where you were, I'll keep this group alive.
Kato: Kei, what's wrong with you ?
Kishimoto: Why are you talking to Yami like that ? I'm sure he would have intervened if we were really in a bad situation.
"Okay, I get it but if you really want to protect them all you'll also have to go rescue the other team inside, now. There's danger there." Yami said with a shrug before returning to the roof in a few hops.
Kurono had the right to be arrogant because he's had a pretty good hunt so far and the Lara Croft-looking girl was looking at him with mixed emotions.
Almost as soon, they saw the two newbies from the other team come out of the room out of breath as if they had stared death in the face.
Kato and Kurono were at the front when they entered the room to see Hojo and Sadako (the creepy girl) entwined in a kiss on the ground while only the upper half of their bodies remained, they were dead.
