As Ashley slowly surfaced from the depths of unconsciousness, the world around her gradually came into focus. A sudden awareness struck her, and she tried to move, only to realize the absence of sensation in one of her arms. The weight of the revelation settled heavily on her, and a wave of mixed emotions washed over her, dimming the light in her eyes.
"It's okay, be positive, Ashley. It's just one arm," she murmured, attempting to encourage herself amidst the challenges ahead.
The door creaked open, and into the room entered Josh, his face brightening with relief at the sight of Ashley awake. With him was an unfamiliar face, adding an air of mystery to the moment. "Ash, how are you feeling?" Josh inquired, genuine concern etched on his face.
