Capítulo 2: Chapter 2: The new champion
The world plunged into darkness once more, and the eerie voice returned, delivering its ominous message. "Champion has been defeated. Humanity will be exterminated... Error, error. Last chance has been activated, a random person has been chosen: Amon." Once again, another person had been chosen, and the fate of humanity hung in the balance. Would Amon repeat the same mistakes, or would he change the course of events?
Amon stood in silence, a mixture of calm and distress on his face. He wasted no time and confidently descended the stairs. As he approached the living room, he noticed the door was ajar, and a sense of déjà vu gripped him. Could it be the same as before? Without hesitation, he entered the room, where the tall, monstrous figure stood waiting. Despite trying to maintain composure, nervousness washed over Amon as their eyes locked. The inhuman creature spoke with a deep voice, "You aren't scared?"
Amon replied confidently, "No."
"Why is that?" the figure inquired. Amon explained, "I noticed that when the previous person ran away, you didn't even bother to chase him. You sat down, which made me assume you weren't hostile, unlike those green monsters."
The creature looked surprised and asked, "And what if you had assumed wrong?"
Amon took a deep breath and replied, "Then I guess humanity would have gone extinct."
The creature burst into laughter. "Alright, kid, it's time for me to explain what's going on. Earth has been cursed by an otherworldly being known as Dracula."
Amon interrupted in disbelief, "Dracula, as in the vampire?"
The figure nodded, "Yes, that's right. Dracula is the vampire from your legends. The curse's purpose is to make everyone on the planet disappear into nothingness, except for one person, the champion. The champion's duty is to save humanity by defeating the one who activated the curse."
Amon listened closely, his frustration apparent. "How in the world am I supposed to do that? And what about those monsters outside?"
The figure smiled and continued, "That's where the curse comes in. It also summons these monsters you mentioned. Their role is to provide you with a currency called 'points,' which can only be used with beings like me. We're known as the Voithos, helpers summoned by the curse. Our goal is to assist the champion and otherworlders by selling them items to fight against the curse's monsters."
Amon was bewildered, wondering if this fantasy world was a dream. Still in shock, he responded with determination, "Where do I start?"
